How do I make my hawk sport a 50? What size boom and everything? And is it even cost effeciant to do so? I paid 200.00 for heli and engine. Thanks

Thanks.. This is going to take a chunk of cash so I guess I will just buy a knight 50 here soon. At less than $300.00 I dont think I will beat it for flight performance!

Rather then the Knight 50, you might want to consider spending $370.00 for the Raven 50.

Now you will get a set of Composite mainblades, a torque tube driven tail with a constant drive system for controling the tail in aerobatic autorotations, heavy duty anding gear from the Predator, the 4mm flybar system from the Predator with the heavy duty control yoke and flybar paddles, the triple bearinged tail rotor system from the Predator etc, etc, etc. You will find it more of a pocket 90 then a larger 30.

I do not know what engine you now have in your Hawk Sport but I have tried the OS37 and the Toki 40 in my Hawk Pro and wow, what a difference to the OS32SXH that was in it before. Now it is much more in the power to weight ratio of the 50 size helis.

The reason I was thinking about the knight 50 is because so many people that have it are telling my that it feels like a 90 in the air and from the videos ive seen it does fly realy well plus I just checked the price and its $260.00!

Does the $260.00 Knight 50 that you are looking at have the following:

Proven Composite mainblades?
Metal rotor hub?
4mm Flybar system from a 60/90 size heli?
Full metal swashplate from a 90 size heli?
Heavy duty landing gear?
Torque tube tail drive system?
Driven tail in the autorotation system?
A tail rotor with TWO radial bearings AND a thrust bearing in each blade grip from a 60/90 size heli?
A tail rotor system with a hard steel rotor hub from a 60/90 size heli

If not, what would it cost you to upgrade it to these types of systems?

P.S. - Have you flown the Hawk SPort that you have? What engine does it have? What is your proficiency as a heli pilot - novice, intermediate, master - HOT 3D?

With an OS32SXH it is still capable of 3D flight - with an OS37 or Toki 40 it will have the power to weight ratio of most 50 size helis.

For $370.00 the Raven 50 already comes with them!

The knight 50 has most of those things plus it is eccpm. Yes I have flown my hawk sport quite alot realy. It doesnt realy have enough power for funnels but I can get some out of it, it piro flips nice but the non driven tail in autos drives me nutz.

Z - by "most" which ones?

No Torque tube, no 4mm 60/90 type flybar system, no triple bearing 60/90 tail rotor grips, no 60/90 tail rotor hub.

P.S. The Raven 50 always has been eCCPM.

Have you tried the OS37 or Toki 40 in your Hawk?

Yes I saw that video and I dont think it does the Hawk justice it looks realy sloppy and they arnt.

syclic sounds like a century rep lol. i've got the hawk pro with the o.s. .37 and all i can say is that its not lacking in power lol, pretty soon im gonna get the longer boom and put a .50 size body on the sucker
