Default Share your Swift 16 setup.....

Hey guy's,

I asked this a couple of weeks ago with only a couple of responses... was hoping for a few more. I'm building my first large scale heli and was wondering what setups you used, liked (disliked???) for the Swift 16.

Motor -
ESC -
Servo -
Tail Servo (if different) -
Gyro -
Battery -
TX -
RX -
Misc. -

Thanks!

On Swift 16

Motor - Century 600+ with 11T pinion
ESC - Century 55A
Servo - Futaba S-3151
Tail Servo (if different) - S9254
Gyro - GY401
Battery - Flight Power 4S/3700 and 5S/3700
TX - Futaba 6EXH/2.4
RX - Futaba 6EXH/204
Misc. - I use a seperate RX battery 4.8V/2400 mah NiMh pack to drive the on board radio gear
Mainblades: Stock and Century Funkey 530mm grey composite mainblades

Swift 550SE:

Motor - Century 600+ with 9T pinion
ESC - Century 80A
Servo - Futaba S-9252
Tail Servo (if different) - S9251
Gyro - GY611
Battery - Flight Power 6S/3700 & 6S/4900 and Thunder Power 6S/4500
TX - Futaba 14MZ
RX - Futaba PCM148DP
Misc. - I use a seperate RX battery 4.8V/2400 mah NiMh pack to drive the on board radio gear
Mainblades: Rotor Tech 515 or Rotor Tech 560mm

For scale you will want to set-up for a relatively lower head speed (related to the voltage of your battery pack, the KV of the motor you choose and the pinion you choose) then I use for 3D which will give you less aggressive and smoother cyclic and collective response and longer flight times.

Thanks rotordoc1. One more question (actually I guess two), as a beginner I was told (for FP heli's anyway) to add some positive pitch into the flybar paddles. What about a basic pitch setting for a beginner. Basically just practicing beginner manuevers and hovering... NO 3D or anything aggressive. Also, I know this is going to make me sound really stupid but what is it people are referring to when you say "for scale you will want to..." What is "scale"?
