Here is mine. Pretty much stock except for the carbon blades. I have been eyeing some of the aluminum parts though [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]. Now if the wind and rain would quit I could get her back in the air where she belongs.

Nitrofever,

Just a few comments from your pictures:

1 - I hope that where you have your gyro in the pictures is NOT where you plan to keep it for flying. I would suggest that you put it on the battery tray in behind the Throttle and collective servos (where the plans show the on/of switch to go). This will provide a much better platform for the gyro to work from. Then move the switch to the lower frames and attach it with double sided tape. This will isolate it from any vibes.

2 - Also note in the detailed instructions (not the quick build ones), that the two control rods that go to the aileron bellcranks are not mounted on a wheel that has them at 180 degrees to each other. Look at the instructions carefully and you will find that the balls for the ball links on the wheel used have both balls about 15 degrees forward of center. What you want here is a 90 degree angle between the control rod and the line that would go from the center of the servo wheel to the point where the ball joint is mounted onto the servo wheel. I find that using the standard plastic wheel (that does not have any holes in it, that comes with most servos) is best to use here. Then you can drill the 2mm hole for mounting the ball joints right at the ideal locations.

3 - Your picture show the collective servo arm at a position that is 90 degrees to the servo. I trust this is when your TX collective stick is at half stick. But then your center of the long upper part of collective arm does not look like it is parallel to the boom like it should be. It looks like your collective pushrod needs to be lengthened, such that the center of the long part of the collective arm is parallel to the boom. Then the collective pitch links to the blades should be adjusted to give 0 degrees collective when the software in the collective pitch curve in the radio at 50% at center stick.

4 - For training I would strongly suggest that you replace the orange bling paddles with the stock ones. They are much more stable in the hoer AND in FFF.

Thanks but i think my heli is set right its been set at the field by a heli expert the head that is.Everything is centered. The gyro i just had put there before i took the pic since i was making a custom mount wich ill post pics of whe i get my heli back together.I actually lost my engine yesterday at about 200 feet and did my first auto and let me tell u for my first one it looked like ive been doin them for years.Reminder if any one get the Torpedo speed hv muffler make sure u use red thread locker on your optional nipplescrew hole i had used blue on mine and it vibrated off and had a chain reaction and lost my motor.Broken conecting rod, bent sleve and broken piston. Also before i forget the instruction dont actually show what your talking about if anything it talks about if u want faster response bring the links in on the sevo horns.

Damn, took me awhile to jump in on this thread :). Here's some shots of my E-Hawk Pro sporting it's new paint job. Not my original desired color scheme, but a "mishap" with the airbrush forced me to..alter it.. :D

That is really awesome. I might even have to steal your idea. How did you make the rivets?

racer-RCU 02-26-2007 08:45 PM

RE: Hawk pro gallery

the rivets are simply glue drops applied with a toothpick end....the paint on mine eventually just started peeling off so i had to make a new paint scheme just sumthin simple

I am having the paint peeling problem as well so im thinking of redoing it again. Wonder if a good primer would help.

I found the hawk canopy a real pain in the ass to paint.

You really need to scuff the canopy good, then prime it, then paint it, then use clearcoat.

credence,

You said "I found the hawk canopy a real pain in the ass to paint.". That is true of any current models that use this universal plastic type of canopy.

For my fancy painted canopies I use these. They are very light fiberglass units that come with a kight colored gel coating as a base. They are very easy to prep and paint.

What's funny is the canopy, in it's stock form, has a "rough" surface. I thought to my self "cool, I won't even need to scuff it before hand!"
WRONG! Paint peeled right off!

After scuffing the hell out of it, I got the paint to work quite well, but it wasn't easy.. [&o]
