Looks like the 2nd annual Golden Triangle RC Club pattern meet is scheduled June 28th and 29. I received approval on the sanction yesterday. This will primarily be Senior Pattern.

Everyone seemed to have a good time last year, and we hope to improve the experience. So if you weren't there last year, put it on your schedule this year.

Paul, unless I'm totally confused ('happens), we live pretty close. I belong to Thunderbirds and Wings so any time you want a caller I'll be glad to meet you at the field.
Looks like there may be about 6 events in the area plus OK and AR but I'll make a thread on that when it's all confirmed.

Hey guys,
I am really hoping to make this years event even better than last years. If any of you have any suggestions, please let me know. You won't hurt my feelings.

Thanks Tim. I've grabbed some of the aerobat guys before and gotten pointers from them. They are the same guys who help everybody it seems like- Gary Nelson, Gary Alphin, Ken Knotts, and several others.
Frank- I haven't been to your event, but the key I see to any contest I've been to is to keep the flightlines moving. Communicate to pilots who's coming up and make sure they are ready and if you have the people, it's great for there to be a wrangler around to get guys to the pits efficiently.

And YES, the Golden Triangle RC Club is still viable with over 50 members and a really nice field.

Hey guys we have only a little more than a month. It would be great to have an idea on how many are going to attend. I need to make plans to have enough food and drinks on hand.
You can go here to pre-register: http://www.rcflightdeck.com/event_de...?event_id=3124
The field will be open for practice all day the Friday before. This will be a one day contest so get there early. We will have FREE coffee and donuts for everyone.
I'm looking forward to having a good time.

Frank, you should probably use the SPA site's registration that Lindy set up because that's where they all know to go. http://www.seniorpattern.com/contests.htm
If it's CPA then Scott has set it up here. http://www.classicpatternassociation.com/Events.html

It's getting close:
This will be a ONE day event with B-Novice, Novice, Sportsman, Advanced and Expert. Trophies will be awarded 1st through 3rd place in each Class.
Free Lunch and drinks for pilots and workers, and lots of Raffles.
Pilots will not be needed to judge or work the event. The Golden Triangle Club is supplying all the judges and workers. So you pilots can just RELAX and enjoy the contest.

We just had our 2nd Annual Aerobatic Convention and even though the winds were blowing, we had a pretty good turn out. There were winds blowing 20 to 30 mph, but they were right down the run way. It seems that everyone had a very good time as we got in 5 flights during this one day event.
To view all the photographs taken by Ken Spears, who did an outstanding job of getting these shots, at:
http://www.gtrcc.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=16
The turn out among the members of the Golden Triangle RC Club, Grand Prairie, Texas, was fantastic. The pilots only had to concentrate on their flying and enjoy the event.
A very special thanks to the following Sponsors who donated some very nice prizes for the pilots and workers.
Tower Hobbies
Sig Manufacturing
Boca Bearing
Atlanta Hobbies
Lazer Works
Tru-Turn Mfg
Mikes Hobbies (Dallas, Texas)
Wild Bill's Hobby Shop (Irving, Texas)
BSI Adhesives (Bob Smith Industries)
M & M Trophies and Awards (Grand Prairie, Texas)

Until next year

The final standings have been e-mailed to the SPA.
I would very much appreciate your feed back on how we can improve the event for next year. So please don't hold back and shoot me some of your ideas.
