Bryan, I might try the needle holes after I try the heat idea. I'm not worried about long term. A few flights and I would probably retire her anyway. Thanks.

Mike, the heat worked perfectly. The aileron is holding straight at the moment. Thanks so much for the great tip. I have the pinched fuel line issue solved as well so maybe I can fire the engine up soon.

I recommend staying away from coffee for a few days... you wouldn't want any additional lower extremity vibration produced by pilot!

David,

just posted this in Mike's BA thread and the recent BA20 thread:

Thought you might have some thoughts on it.

TIA, David.

David, have you flown the plane yet? I want to be there for the first flight.

Bruce, thanks, haven't forgot about you. It's been a banner year for my business so my flying has been minimal. I think I need to pull the engine one more time to check the fuel lines and then it's ready to start. I will probably wait until spring to fly it though. Chuck (Atlanta 60) has asked to be there as well. I will keep you posted.

About to post on another thread when I noticed it would be my 5000th post. Had to stop and put it here. Need to fly this plane someday.

Pretty cool David - congrats on being a prominent figure on the forum!

I managed to catch a glance at mine a few days ago for some reason and noticed that I hit 4000. I should have made it a distinguished post..., like yours. [8D]

I think this one will be 4006.

Thanks David. I don't post like I used to, my interests have narrowed a lot. Running a SF in another plane, going to try running the pumped version in my BA very soon. That is all she needs to be flight ready. As for delay excuses I coached my son's baseball team this spring, he plays almost year 'round. Someone else is coaching him this summer though, I'm getting back to RC more every day.

David, did you ever fly your Blue Angel? If so, how did it go?

Bruce, I have not. She stills hangs in my build room awaiting that day. My plan was to fly a less risky classic pattern plane for awhile then get the BA in the air but that hasn't happened. I have a couple of ARF planes (H9 Phoenix 7, Intruder) but haven't gotten them flyable yet. In my defense I have coached my son in baseball for the last 3-4 years (spring, summer and fall), something that I can only do once. Less noble of an excuse is the 100cc Yak and 170cc Sukhoi planes that I fly, so easy to fly and land it makes me lazy I think. I will fly the BA someday..........

Hey David,

i just noticed that I'm celebrating my 5000 and third post with this one so I thought I'd stop by here.

Of course I have no clue which was my 5000th three posts ago...

The good news is I've been doing a little building as of late which means less posting!

Strip ailerons have always been iffy regarding stiffness. I've seen my share depart from wings due to flutter. Let me suggest that 0.2 oz carbon veil be laid down with nitrate dope to stiffen them.

That is a great idea. I have a Cosmos project (idle at the moment) where I will incorporate this.

No, sad and embarrassing to say but due to several reasons I have not. Thank you very much for asking and the compliment.

So 1 reason is I wanted some cheaper slower pattern plane experience before I flew the BA. In the mean time I was flying 100cc Yaks. etc, easy to fly, big and stable. Not having any Kaos' or similar fat airfoil planes at the time meant the BA just sat for a long time. Eventually an aileron warped which took some time to resolve. What else? Now the Nimh battery will need to be removed/replaced........

Soo many reasons.
