RE: Peppermint Pattie for SPA / BPA
Hi All,
There is a “NEW†plane to add to the SPA list !!! After many conversations with Nic Damuck and getting everything to Mickey for an approval the Niris (AKA Peppermint Pattie) has been approved and will be back in production shortly. Plans are being copied and templates being made this week.
The designer is pleased to see the PP back in production, and this will be offered like the Deception as a short kit.
The basic short kit will be the cores and the plans, Deluxe short will be sheeted cores and leading / trailing edge in place and roughed in.. The landing gear block will be installed for fixed gear, or if using retracts for BPA there will be a slight increase for the time to install retract plates and might even have you send me your retracts to make it easier. There also will be carbon strips on the top and bottom of the wings.
Other building options will be able to be talked about.
Pricing is still being worked out and will be posted shortly. The short kit will be offered thru Performance Model Aviation. From what Nic has told me this would also make a very good BPA plane!!
For more info contact PMA at [email protected]
Pre-Orders will be accepted once pricing is finalized!
Thank you,
Scott Anderson

RE: Peppermint Pattie for SPA / BPA
I am excited to see one of Nic's planes kitted again. I always wanted a PP when they were on the market (when I was about 10 years old...)
Scott, would you consider getting set up with a laser cutter to make a fuse/tail semi-kit? I would definitely be interested. I don't have the time or tools to properly cut out the kit myself.

Hello Nick Damuck, is it you? Hello, I'm an old student of Richard Ryan's, my name is Jim Geiselman, I have always wanted your airplane kit the Peppermint Pattie, I remember you flying your .60 size and the small .15 size plane at the fiels in Islip, Long Island New York. Hi Jim,
Yes, it's me. I remember lots of contests on the Island. Dick Ryan was a good friend, I stayed at his house once for a contest. Wow, talk about names down memory lane!
I'm finishing a Perigee right now, but a 60 PP will be on my bench next. Jett muffler, Spring airs, etc.

Yes, it was a long time ago. It is amazing how many people you meet and stay in contact with through this hobby. Thanks for the reply. Myself, I have a curare on the bench now, but it will have to wait, I'm in picturesque Afghanistan for a year, then I will be back hard building and flying these old great birds. Good luck with the new builds, and good flying Nick, great to see that you are still into it, take care, JimG.

Now that the cores will be available, I intend to do a PP build thread. Of course, I have to first finish the Perigee, and then I intend to do one on the Jr. Skylark with twin .020s that I just got.
Speaking of the Jr. Skylark, should that build thread go in the 1/2A or the Vintage sub-forums? (discuss)
