Default "Aerotique Road Show"...?

"Aerotique Road Show...?

My pals now know that I am a cash buyer, sight unseen, for vintage pattern stuff. Sunday morning, I got a call from a pal at a club auction to let me know I have a new:

Tiporare kit including glass fuselage, sheeted foam wings and stab. The kit has been sheeted, appeared straight, a little water damage, firewall installed.

UFO RTF (ok a little TLC) glass fuselage, foam wing and stab and WEBRA Speed .61 with muffler. It is painted, am told it is pretty clean, needs to be cleaned up, this and that.

My plate is currently full and share this to inspire one of you to get a deal via my network of bargain shoppers.

Please (PM) me for particulars.

OK, you're on. I'm looking for an Enya four cycle - any size. NOT the one with the open rocker arms - that's just crazy. Unless it's a Curtiss OX-5 or a Liberty V-12.

"Aerotique Road Show"...?

One purpose of this thread is to discuss pros and cons of purchasing used stuff and what criteria one might consider...kind of like "Antique Road Show".

The following were picked up at a club auction over the weekend 2100 miles from my home by one of my pals. He just e-mailed me the photos revealing what appears to be a real find and well a stinker that has potential.

The Tiporare kit is probably a find:
1. Not completed
2. Easy to ship
3. Visible water damage on some of the wing sheeting
4. Very rare
5. Very fine flying model
6. Market price $275+ plus shipping from Phoenix area. (PM) me if you are interested.

The UFO has potential...
1. Includes Webra motor/muffler
2. Includes Rhom-Air retracts (imagine the O rings are a bit stiff)
3. Includes the Futaba servos...(wowee, look at those gems!)
4. Looks heavy
5. Diificult to ship
6. Value as a RTF model is minimal
7. Value as a "rare" fiberglass fuselage with "rare" Webra motor is interesting
8. Market price based on #6 is $50...based on #7 $250+ plus shipping from Phoenix area. (PM) me if you are interested.
