If i were you I'd take what you've got and use it to make a mould for some glass well tubes. honestly, for something like that, if it weighs any more than 5-6 grams, its overkill.

No offense but weight is not a huge issue with me. I build strictly for pleasure and looks, rarely fly and don't compete. Most don't paint or at least don't paint their wings due to weight gain but I paint everything I build. Again, more interested in the pleasure of the final results than a bit of weight gain.

David, I understand your point, i guess it's just hard for me coming from building my own competition aircraft for years and having everything go past a set of scales before it was allowed onto the plane.

As for painting the wings, You're not the only one. I'm never going to have another plastic plane if I can help it! Done right, a painted wing isn't that much heavier.

Carry on MacDuff!

Paul, here are a couple of retract photos you were asking for. I can take more if you need them.

This had been a long ignored thread. I now have the retract area finished. Final wing sheeting is next.

A good bit of progress happened this weekend. I got the wing squared, the vertical stab on and sanded and the canopy cut to size.

This is a really good looking build.

Anyone have an idea where Ican get my hands on a set of MKretracts like these? What's the model number? They do look more solid than the SS or SP's.

The retracts came with the kit in this instance. Try Frequent Flyer's Wild Beat build thread, I believe he had retracts modified to match the originals.

Does any one have rib tracings for this wing?
Thanks.... Chad.

I make the complete kits , clear canopy,, fiberglass cowl and other parts, autocad plans, all the laser cut balsa and ply parts, and all the sheeting, blocks, sticks, needed to build the plane.

Glad to help. I never built a wing using the rib templates I used the root and tip to cut a foam wing. So please verify them for your building.

Hi there may need some of these plans for this kit I have bid on this kit . Not sure if I will win it but if I do it comes with no plans to build it. May require a set happy to pay them if they can be produced exactly as the full set you have there. I have 3 days to go for this kit so I will see . If they want stupid money for it this plan will not be required just thought I would ask if you don’t mind in case I do.

Kind Regards
Neil

Hi Neil,
If you don’t win the kit, Don Carlson at RCAIIR.com sells a very nice copy of the kit. I have one and it comes with full size plans. :-)
will

And I helped him with the kit. I sent him copies/tracings of formers and wing ribs.
