There is a French rifle for sale also.
Never fired and only dropped twice

are you saying the rifle was picked up while retreating and then dropped again? how does one pick up a rifle while running at top speed? [X(]

I think my generation, (I'm 40) doesn't have an opinion one way or another towards the French.
My father though, feels the French are arrogant, ungratefull American haters. These are opinions based on post WW2 interactions, which is where most American jokes toward the French are based.

French will never say thanks enough for the american tribute during the two world war... You did much for freedom, and we will never forget..
After the war was the very clever Marshall plan... This guy said; if we don t help them, another war will show up in europ...
When i was a child, in the sixties, everything was américan....
This was the american dream tranlated in french...
In fact, this was universal in europ, and, because of that, we have been able to talk beetween européans...
During the cold war, russians have been forced to stay away of ours countries by the american determination...
Every french knows that..
So, i m always a bit sisappointed when i heard that france is not appreciated in america, i believe that s the fault of ours politics,
Anyway, today some voices are talking about american imperialism, in south america, with the monsanto experience of making controlled food, about the dollar issue...
I dont know... All i know is that there is no american popular product in europe anymore... No cadillac, no cox engine, no fridges, no cessna and piper....
It s not fun as it use to be with the chinese stuff...

I started this thread, and it was about engine's. How did it get to this? One of my brother's married a French girl, from Strousburg, France. Don't know if I spelled that right. She also made him very well off, all thru hard work and determination to be independent. She is still in the USA, and love's it here.
Aren't the French Special Force's fighting with our soldier's in Afghanistan ? Didn't they serve, and still are active in Iraq? I believe the regular French Army soldier's are fighting in the middle east, along with other NATO Force's. It is nice to see Dagget's say something about what us American's did for Europe, post WWII. Too many folks over there have forgotten, that if it was not for us, they would all be speaking German.
Let the first ICBM from a rogue country, hit any of the country's in Europe. Who will be the first to come to their defense? Russia? China? Anyone else? You guessed it, good ol' USA. We always put our lives on the line, for the price of freedom, and what do we get for it? Nothing. We are the breadbasket of the world. I don't know why, when the price of crude goes up, why we don't just raise the price of wheat accordingly.
