ProLine conversion
Hi.
I have just sent my Dad's old Pro Line on a journey back to USA. Finally I found some one that can convert my old 27 mhz radio to 2.4 ghz And that is thanks to the Kraft radio conversion topic here. So in a couple of weeks Tony Stillman at Radio South will receive the old Pro Line. When I have talked about a conversion on our Swedish RC sites I've been told I'm a fool for doing it. Just buy a new 2.4 and be done with it, they say. But there is a reason why I still fly methanol/castor fuel and older 2 strokes, and why I build and fly old pattern ships. I LIKE IT, thats why. Cant wait to get my big and baby curare's in the air and with my Dad's old Pro Line as it should be:D Take care. Joakim |

I'm sure your 2.4 Pro Line will be fantastic. Did Tony explain what and how he plans to convert it? Encoders, RF, etc? The Kraft thread inspired me to do the same (well, 2.4 did 3 years ago or so as well) so I plan to convert a single stick Kraft as an experience. Did you consider undertaking the conversion yourself? RE: ProLine conversion
David, I'm not so smart when it comes to electronics, but it was something with a XPS modul.
I wil check and see, but it seems like the way to go[8D] Joakim |
RE: ProLine conversion
Radio South's reputation is so good I just send the radio, etc to them with a request. The prices and service are great I just say do it please and wait for the results. A Kraft single stick will go to them shortly.

Tony did a 2.4 conversion on one of my Pro-Line single sticks about a year and a half ago. It still has a slightly twitchy elevator (figures) pot but it's hardly noticeable. Plus, since I have a problem with spending money on stuff I look at and go hhmmmmm.... I decided to try it on my own and converted my second Pro-Line to 2.4. Now I have two that work great and I can swap a 6m Rf deck back into either one if I wish to. Tony will probably use the XPS universal module which will mount on top of the Tx, if you ask him, I'm sure he can set it up inside (I'm assuming it's a two stick Tx). You might want to ask him to put a Deans or other type of plug between the battery and power switch (he forgot to do it on mine), I did so as not to have to cut and solder the wires when I have to replace the Tx battery. If you want the antenna and old Rf deck you might want to mention that too. By the way, the XPS universal module also works in my 78 and 79 Series Kraft single stick Tx's too. I've been using the XPS in my Tx's for about a year and a half now (no issues in my experiences). Post some pics when you get her back. Mark |

Joakim, great news on your Proline conversion. I feel the same way you do about the old radios and older pattern planes as I'm sure everybody else on this forum do also. I have a kraft single stick that I will be sending to Tony for the 2.4 conversion. I posted a pic of it, still looking for a single stick proline. Good luck and enjoy your Proline! Regards, Pete

Thanks to you all:)
Tony seem's to be the man to go to when it comes to 2.4 conversions. Take care. Joakim |
RE: ProLine conversion
Now I have a perfect candidate for the new ProLine 2.4
I found an old F3A model made by Jesper Von Segebaden, and I will pick it up tomorrow. With it I'll get a Robbe 5 channel NIB radio. So cool with these oldschool stuff:D |
