Wanted: MK Curare 60 Kit

I am looking for a MK Curare 60 Kit. Does anyone know of a hobby shop (anywhere in the world) that may have one? Few years ago Singapore Hobby Shop had these in stock but I believe they dont carry it anymore. I know MK stopped manufacturing these kits so if anyone has one lying around and willing to sell, please send me a PM.

I know there are a few kits manufacturers in germany that have a F/g fuse with Foam and balsa sheeted wings available but I am looking for the orginal. if cannot get the original, then I will go for the F/g version.

Thanks in advance

Neelesh

I think it`s gonna be hard finding an untouched mk kit and if you find one be prepared to pay a LOT for it. I have the curare 40 from the german webshop (building it now ) and it`s pretty decent and with some adjustments it can turn into a very nice curare

Are you planning on building it or putting it on the shelf... If you are going to build then you should look @ the Eureka short kit made here in the US. just an option to look at.

Can you provide more info on the german kit? I had a MK Curare 40 but lost it in a mid air. hunting to see if someone has a MK Curare kit.

I came across the eureka site this morning http://www.eurekaaircraft.com/plan_kits/curare.htm. The curare does not look too bad. will continue my hunt and this may be the fall back in case I cannot find one.

Thanks,

I second the kit from Eureka. Have 2 of them and a couple of MK 20 Curare kits. I know of someone who has 2 MK 60 kits but I won't even bother asking. They were from Singapore Hobby, one bought by me when I was clueless about the hobby in 2001. Also came across a guy who has a Curare 40 kit but he's stop responding on the intent to sell the kit for some reason.

In any case, here's another idea, build one from scratch. Either a 60 like one of the chaps currently posting or this:

If you are interested, I have a guy here in Singapore who's keen to sell off his 2 built Curare 40s. I think he has an Arrow too.

I have a 60 which am intending to restore but you're welcomed to offer something for it if we can figure the shipping:

Good luck and hope you get back in the air with another.

The german kit for the 40 has only the fibreglass fuse and foam wings option but the 60 comes also in full fibreglass or traditional fibre fuse and foam wings
wings and stab are allready sheeted and fuse is of a nice quality just that the cowl is seperate is a bit of a shame

Wasn't there someone offering an ARF in two different color schemes?

Yup!

they should be on the market now as they were supposed to be released this month. They are actually produced by an Austrian company - they are not far from Hanno's home town. They have also been personally tested and endorsed by Hanno himself!

They look like good ARF's.

Not to disparage those Curare ARFs because I'm sure they are very nice and the factory is very reputable but they are produced in China. Several efforts were made to have a US importer but the terms were not acceptable to any US distributor.

Thanks for the links. I came across these a couple of days ago. I have found a couple of good sources who may be able source the original MK. just working thru the details..not cheap by any means. The Austrian version (links below) look really interesting but given shipping costs etc the eureka seems like the more practical and reasonable option. Lots of time to kill over the long winter.

The Sunshine Curare is a strange bird - barn door ailerons.

Rusty was selling his and I suspect it didn't meet with his approval. The ARF would be better value in my opinion given they would both be shipping from Europe - I assume.

Better yet would probably be to build one from the Eureka short kit. There's a thread here on Mitch's build form Eureka. Standard construction.

David.

RE: Wanted: MK Curare 60 Kit

I checked with Sunshine Models on the Curare40. It was 149Euros +64 Euros shipping. Just too much money for me for one kit. I'll get some balsa and build the Curare 40.

Jim
