RE: Summit
Dox - I was buying some Kraft wheels, and the Atlas fuselage I have, on the west coast of FL. He has an Ivan Kristenson built Summit II, I think it is a II, as it is setup for a 120 size engine. He wanted $250.00 for it, and it is built, needs covered, etc. Very nice.

RE: Summit
Vince,
unique - should go pick it up! I'd like to build any Summit, if for no other reason that they are Canadian designs... ;) get him to send you some pics! David. |

David - I have to do some research for his phone number, and maybe his e-mail. I will get back to you, very busy with projects right now, but will fit it in. I think I posted a lot of info on it sometime back, I will check, it is, or was nice. He is the same guy that I sent pictures of the Conquest VI. Here is that plane, and his garage, now I have to remember his name, etc. He also had a couple of YS61's just re-built, Mike Williams bought one, and some parts. He has a Hanson built Curare there, superb. See attached, from his garage. Also here, is the Atlas fuselage he had, with a bent stab, someone thought it was a Curare. Pat from LaserCut has cut me a ribbed wing and stab for it, just have to go get it, close to home for me, I am going to cut this bent stab off, straighten it out.
Hey ShaFun, don't mean to get off track on your thread here, your stuff is still cool. Vince |
RE: Summit
Nice C6!
If memory serves that is "lamyap's" garage. I recall him moving a few classics but his address was listed as Los Angeles if I'm not mistaken. I guess people move around. So did he send you any photos of the S3? I'd like to find one. I know Chuck has one but don't know who sourced it for him. David. |
RE: Summit
David, that Summit was big. He has a couple more there, not Summit's, but two other's from that era, look professionally built. The other plane on the bench here, I brought home. I gavce someone on here, all the info, see if I can find any PM's, get back on here with an edit.
OK, Flywilly has the guys name and e-mail address. I looked at the PM's sent to him, only thing, the e-mail address dropped off, dunno why, maybe some kind of policy here. Will was going to buy it, then changed his mind. Vince |
RE: Summit
Lamyap would be Steve Criss (if memory serves ;)) a long-time pattern (and some time jet) fanatic. He and I have sent kits and engines to each other on a few occasions!
The original Summit is my personal favorite. I saw Ivan fly it on several occasions (including the 1985 nats). The Summit II was an excellent design which refined (corrected??) the original design. The next iteration was the Summit 120 which I don't think Ivan flew it for very long as he moved on to the Typhoon 2+2. I'd love to see Don (aka Frequentflyer) produce a kit of the original Summit, but he'd need a kit or at least a finished version to copy. The original was powered with a YS 60FR turning an Asano 12x9 prop. |
RE: Summit
Once more, gonna hit the sack, you mention Typhoon, I think he has one of those built there also. See what I can dig up.

What do you think a 91 size motor with a 14x6 prop will do even with the weight problem |
RE: Summit
What weight problem? Is the underside designed for a RE piped engine? 91 four stroke or two stroke?
David. |
RE: Summit
2 stroke what i read it actualy came out wit 61 motor
|
RE: Summit
How much does it weigh dry? Is the underside designed for a rear exhaust piped engine?
