Yes it`s still available but i have no idea what shipping to the USA would cost, here`s a link http://shop.wega-sunshine.com/index....unmodelle.html

RE: Almost done

It's apparently expensive to ship here. Rusty would know, he ordered both a Curare and a Blue Angel from them.

The latter was built and finished by Dave Guerin as some of us here know. Beautifully done. I think Rusty sold the Curare.

60 size Curare's with Hanno's "personal stamp of approval" will also be available as ARF's 'round the end of the year - probably for Xmas:

I think the price was dropped from E350 to 299. About US$400 today. Might be more or less by the end of the year...

I'd like to know how. The numbers I heard yesterday weren't economically viable, and a big US distribution house wasn't able to strike a deal. Too much for too many.
Do you have better info on the future of the Curare ARF? Producers have come to their senses?

They look really nice but for an ARF i think no matter if it`s in euro or dollar 300 euro or $400 is big money for something you have no idea of how it`s build .
Even if when you buy a kit you spend about the same i would rather buy a kit so you can build it the way you like and because for me attleast building is part of the hobby .

Chris, are you talking about the Austrian Curare ARF's to come or Rusty's purchase of the Sunshine kits?

If the former, apparently there will be some sort of US dealership. Details are in the appropriate threads. The price might be reduced for the US market to make them "marketable" but also because the transportation costs should in principle be less once QC is under control. On the other hand, it's a smaller outfit (compared to the US giants) that is putting these ARF's together so they might just want to keep things under control and sell directly - no NA dealership. Sebastiano Silvestri, although much more prolific kit wise, has a similar situation. The US dealership was/is always questionable. I think things are a little better now.

If you are referring to Rusty's purchase, well, you might know that coin is not a source of concern... or so I've come to understand.

I've never met you or spoken to you, but I can tell you now - IHATEYOU!http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...n/punching.gif

After seeing that link I ended up ordering a Blue Angel.
May your kwilinks all go loose.

The model was actually just put up for sale by it's owner. It must only have a few flights on it. Top craftsmanship by Dave Guerin.

BTW, there is also a more extensive thread on the subject model in this forum aside from two other scratch build threads also on RCU; David's and Mike's.

I seem to recall the shipping to North America is approximately $90.00. I checked into this6-8 weeks ago. I can buy a lot of balsa for $90.00 to build a Curare 40 from plans.

Hey Erik,

I just noticed that the Sunshine kit doesn't come with the typical Curare clipped wing/stab tips. I suppose this is an option that the builder can take care of when building the surfaces...

How's the equipment install going?

David.

boomerik 10-08-2011 09:23 AM

RE: Almost done

Hi David

Yeah from the box the kit comes with openings allready made for the barn door ailerons so i filled those openings up and cut out the normal size ailerons i didn`t however clipped the wing/stab tips i just left them straight also because the alerons are the cut out parts of the wing so if i would have done that i would have had to make new ailerons from solid balsa to be able to make the ailerons.

The install is going ok hinged all surfaces yesterday and installed the aileron servo`s and linkages and was planning on putting in the rest of the radio gear this evening i`ll take a picture again when it`s all ready .

It'd be worth every penny if it didn't have all of that advertising on it, and Rusty's name! I think I saw all of the flights it has on it, two or three by Rusty and one by Dave!

Well, I'd have to concur Chris. What a shame that it only has ~4 flights on it. I hope someone with the funds and the passion is able to put it through a few more rounds...

Hi,

Just wanted to update a bit got all the linkages in and only need a few small things to finish and she should be ready for her maiden if the weather becomes a bit better here .
I`ll post some pics when she`s finished

Any of you guys maybe know how much the control trows should be at since the "drawing" that came with the kit only shows the CG and the dihedral for the wing and stab

Erik,

check out an recent active thread on the RCG forum. Plans for the MK C40 are posted there - I haven't checked but the throws ought to be there.
