Mufflers

How loud is a Semco muffler on a HB 61 Blitz? I ran the flow through Macs "mufflers" on a K&B .40 way back, and it was loud AND annoying. I was wondering if the Semcos had a better tone or less noise.
I am putting the motor on an Eyeball, and the stock muffler will not fit without rotating the engine a few degrees so the muffler will clear the fuse. I dont really want to knock the existing blindnuts out and do all that jazz if I can help it.
Of course, I also do not really want to run a pipe either as that would easily clear the fuse.

As I remember from way back, The only thing louder than a SEMCO muffler was either NO muffler or one of the DuBro mufflers with the spacers and plates!

I can use the extension, but I don't like them. To me, that is just too much weight hanging off of long skinny bolts. Its a good recipe for loose or missing mufflers. It also doubles your chances of leaking. Since Semcos are that loud, that option is out. I might have to resort to the Macs one piece muffler, the really ugly black ones.
