Answer to the SPA guys

I have got emails asking some questions by the SPA pilots about the requirments for CPA.. So instead of a bunch of emails, here is a blanket answer......

1) Yes SPA planes can be used in CPA.

2) The patterns are very close, so If your flying SPA you can fly CPA. Here is the patterns http://classicpatternassociation.com...call_cards.pdf

3) You do not need to join CPA to fly in any of the classes.

4) Retracts and Pipes are not required !

you can find more at http://classicpatternassociation.com

Why not? As long as he can perform the maneuvers.

There you go. Of course they should have two pilots at once flying patterns directly at each others plane. A 4 point roll would take on a whole 'nother meaning.

If you can get a 9-10 on a PATTERN 4 point with a 1/5th scale AT-6 you are pretty good pilot. They do WARBIRD 4-points pretty well, but a true straight, on a string 4 point is not their forte. I have flown one quite a bit. They do not necessarily transition from one point to the next smoothly while maintaing a constant altitude. Throw in biut of an arc, and they are great! ;)

Hey Scott, You see what I have to put up with !! We fly together and he comes up with some off the wall stuff ! I guess it's that younger generation thing !! You never know where they are coming from or going for that matter !!
