On the T2A I had to avoid a full scale that took of from a different runway and did not announce it on our radio. They were using the North-South runway all day and this yo-yo decided to take off heading East toward us and didn't say boo. I was practicing for a fly-in that weekend. I had to fly the P-7 again like last year.
The P-7 was dumb thumbs I was flying a knife-edge pass and rolled it inverted and pulled up. Leo is ordering a new case for the NR .60. The servos I can save w/ new gears but the receiver i won't trust in and airplane.
These are worst I have done in ten years, so I was way overdue.

I thought my week with the stock market was bad, but nothing compared to you!

Sorry to hear that. That's something I've been afraid of while inverted.

Are you going to build next or find an ARF?

I had no crashes this week. Mostly because I didn't fly. Ok, totally because. In the words of one of our great classic pattern members here; 'the less I fly, the less I crash'.

Looks like maybe an hour to an hour and a half with a ball peen hammer and some Elmer's and you can be back in the air by next weekend. :)

The wife spent $700 on a new 50cc GeeBeeR3 with struts. On my 3rd flight I lost it due to some kind of radio issue. Very sad day

I wrecked my little Rogue Bipe, elevator servo came loose and it just flew into the ground. Did you cartwheel the T-2, Ed? Bummer.

Sorry to see that. Two at once just sucks. I watched a buddy pound two into the ground about a month ago. Turns out when you twist the TX a certain way, all the controls would lock over. Never saw that one coming.

I fly at an airfield where full scale planes start and land. We are required to listen on the airport frequency while flying our model airplanes (and land ASAP if a plane want to start or land). But it is a matter of fact that some planes just appear at the field (for landing or just touch and go) without pilot announcing they enter the pattern, on downwind leg etc that they are suppose to say on the radio. If one is alone at the field and fly RC it is plain dangerous when a full scale plane appear on the sky without saying nothing on radio. Maybe some full scale pilots think we are mindreaders?
Anyway, most full scale flyers communicate just fine their intentions, but not all of them.

Thats funny mine did something similar, although mine was a radio issue.
I never did get mine dialled in, it wasn't the best flying plane I've ever owned.

No i just hit hi weeds.
I friend of mine who does fiberglass work said it looks like a dry joint on the seams. I'll fill w/ epoxy and milled fibers then cloth strip it from the inside also. It will be a winter project.

I have a suggestion by what I've used to repair seams. Use silica, it's about $10 a bag, mixed with epoxy and inject it with a cheap syringe (Target gave me some for free at the pharmacy) to rejoin the halves then once it's dry fill in the top with micro balloons and epoxy so it will sand easier...just an idea. Milled fibers work great but it's easier to use the silica in a syringe.

Ed,

The loss of the P7 smarts, especially now H9 discontinued the ARF. If I was to dumb thumb, that is were I would do it, on the knife edge flip over. I seem to fly low and hold the up too long when I should push forward. Just last week I did the same thing only to result not in a crash but the lowest split S in history when I tried to recover.

Are you using Z-POXY finishing resin w/ the silica or resin? I like your idea as trying to get cloth in the fin would be tough.

I didn't get a reply notice, RCU must have had a glitch; weird, right?

I don't use Zpoxy, I use a local epoxy company for my epoxy because I buy it in 5 gallon quantities. I think it's 60,000 to 80,000 tensile strength so it's some good stuff. That's similar to Fibreglast or West resins.
Just check the strength on the Zpoxy. More than likely it will be fine even at 20,000, anything higher is aerospace grade.

That's the right product in the picture. Just don't breath it. ;)

I had to leave the flying field right after the first flight with the Kougar yesterday. It was snapping out of the top of a loop. Other than that it flew fine. Got it back on the ground and found a loose aileron hinge. Compared to the pics above, I had a GOOD week.
