Cutlass Supreme kit by Don Coleman available
 

Just listed my Joy Products Cutlass Supreme by Don Coleman on the ever popular internet auction site if anyone is interested.

Cool. Hopefully someone here will buy it and build it soon. I have the Spyglass version and wonder how it flies. For it's age the stab and wing are uncommonly close to the thrust line for that period. You see that in the newer planes like the Atlanta and Aurora. Plus it's smaller so an OS 55 with a Macs exhaust would probably make this a perfect combo.

Thought I might build it at one time but then reality bit me in the hindquarters. All of my planes are .40 size and smaller. Just don't have the room, automobile or resources to build, fly and maintain a .60 size plane. I hope one of you gents ends up with it.

thanks for offering this to the community. If I may, I'll just comment that to me, the Cutlass is no where near a 60 size ship - today. Back in the 60's sure. Today's 60's or even those of the 80's are too much muscle for this 62/51" bird! :)

A strong 45 such as a YS, a vintage 50 such as a Webra Speed or, the easiest choices today, an OS 55 AX or a NR R50F, would more than amply feed the energy requirements of this classic. They would also cut down the weight of the model to a nice 6 lbs ballpark.

I'd jump at your offering but in view of the lack of kits in the past (or at least my luck at sourcing one), I decided to draw my own. I plan to use a Webra 50 and my target weight goal will be 6 to 6.5 lbs max with fixed gear.

It wouldn't be that difficult to modify this design with foam core plug in wing panels rather than a single piece wing for ease of transportation in an 049 car... :D
