Help identify this airframe
 

Can anyone identify this airframe. Has wing tips that are unique that should help make it stand out. Balsa sheeted foam wings and fiberglass fuselage.

I'm about to start building it and have no plans or other information on it.

Looks like a Ken Binks British design called the Pacemaker. The tips I don't believe are on the original. Try contacting Steve Dunning of Elation Hobby on the UKCAA forum. He might have a better idea:

Thanks Doxilla. That does look similar. The vertical stab on mine is balsa and not part of the glass fuse... More upright as well... Needs to be glued on... But does look similar. I will poke around on that UK website and see what I can find as well as contact the gentleman you have stated as well...

like most classics, their originals were built in wood as is the case with the Elation version Steve built and offers. It's possible that when the mold was made for your model, they didn't include the vertical. This was not uncommon with early glass fuses. It was only in the late 70's, early 80's that glass fuses started to have integral fins. As an example, glass Dirty Birdy fuses had no glass fin while the follow up UFO did.

Mind you, with a fuse design like yours, an integral follow fuse fin (as in Steve's Pacemaker build) must be made a part of the fuse unless a lot of work is done to blend a thicker foiled vertical into the glass. It could be that your model is a different design as well.

Hello FLYSRC,
I think that is a Striker. It was published back in the early '70s and I do not recall the designer's name.
All the ones I remember had wooden fuselages, though.

That it..........Thank you all so much. Doxilla thank you as well for all your input. There are several of us up here in the north each building our own different classic pattern plane. I also have a 1962 pappy debolt Zeus interceptor pattern plane vintage 1962 BNIB completely untouched and the glass ork looks like it was done yesterday....going to be a fun winter...

Nice plane your buddy built..... Can I pick your brain for a moment.... What motor did he use. Balance point. Is there any website I can go to for more information..... I looked but couldn't find anything. All you guys are amazing.!!!!!!! Thanks again for your help.

Yes indeed, it WAS nice......................................

Engine was an OS .65 AX. Balance it 1/3 back from the leading edge.

Looking at the pictures, it looks like a mashup of the two. A Pacemaker fuse and Striker wing..
