Help ID plane
 

Hello Folks,

I have a plane that has been sitting in my garage for as long as I can remember. I'm certain that it is a pattern plane, it is a 60 size but I have no idea what it is. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me ID the plane. Thank you.

It looks very similar to the old Crescent Tornado from the late 70's
Made in the UK and now reproduced by Paul Bardoe / cloud models ...

Thank Modtron for your input. Yes, it looks very similar indeed. sny thought on its flight characteristics? I have ln't flown it yet, and I'm considering re-monoking the plane and hopefully make it flyable again.

As suggesed it seems it is a Tornado model you have.
Nice retro paint scheme.
Is the model (both wing+stab+fuselage) covered in plastic film?
If so maybe You should keep the original plastic film on the wing+stab and only recover the fuselage. Personally I like when a model has signs of age and wear so I would try to keep as much of the original as possible.

Here in Europe the "Tornado" was made by Crescent (England) and also by Multiplex (Germany). Maybe it came from one manufacturer but was sold under two brands.
It was a rather popular F3A (RC-I) model in the middle-late 1970th.

By the way, it seems the original builder of Your plane got inspired a little of Hanno Prettner "Super Sicroly" design (available in 40 and 60 seize versions from MK Models in Japan in the 1970th) for the paint scheme. Here is the scheme on the 40 seize version.

The plane was picked up by my father more than +25 years ago from a friend who gave it to him as a gift. Yes the plane is covered in plastic film, I would love to retain this scheme, but I might want to make it a bit modern. I was thinking of spray painting it. And yes, you are right, it seems that they guy who built it was inspired by the super sicroly for sure. This version uses air retracts, they are very old but still might work. I will most likely order the canopy for the plane since the original one is long gone. Thank you for the helpful information!
