Hello

I'm building an Atlas kit from Eureka for a friend.
The cutting of the parts is irreproachable, very beautiful kit.
It's very nice to put the pieces together.
The fuselage requires some construction experience to be sure it is straight.
So for reasons of simplicity and to be sure to have a straight fuselage; I cut out the upper part of the frames to mount the sides flat on the site around the axis of symmetry.

The formwork for the wings is finished, but since it's not too hot in the workshop, I postponed gluing them to the cores. I was able to resume the assembly of the fuselage by installing the engine thanks to the supports given by a friend. It's quite a hassle to do because there isn't a lot of space unlike our current planes.

Hello

Installation of the front retractable landing gear is complete.
There was a big session sanding the balsa which forms the lower part of the fuselage.

Hello

The wing sheets were made with 1.5 mm light balsa, the leading edges in 10 mm balsa. The control of the ailerons and the passage of the power extensions of the electric gears were carried out before gluing the two wings in the middle.

My Bridi Deception built nearly 12 years ago. My cats love to roll around in the shavings then drag them upstairs. :D

Plane is finished.

Very nice work and a lot of it. I acquired an original glass Atlas last year along with a glass Bootlegger. I hope to have both in the air this year, maybe one of them in time for an SPA contest. I think the Atlas is going to get an FSR i bought last year and I'm sure the Bootlegger will get the SuperTigre X61. I've got the original one my Dad bought when the Bootlegger was current and I doubt it's been run much since then. A friend found a second copy of that engine at Nall a couple of years ago and picked it up for me. The fun part was getting pipe headers for it. I hope you are able to post some photos of the finished plane.
