New Plane

I have been flying an alph 60 for about a month on my own and i'm already looking towards my second plane. I realy want to get into areobatics but I don't know were to start looking when it comes to a plane or engine. I want something big. Any suggestions.

Thanks
Keith

RE: New Plane

If you have some help there..... and since you are in the pattern section....

Goldberg Tiger 60
Great Planes Kaos

Take a look at those. With decent experience on the Alhpa, you can transition to either of those without a big issue. And both planes are very smooth and aerobatic. Smooth is the important thing here.

You didn't mention whether or not you wanted an ARF or are OK with building a laser-cut kit. I'm also wondering if you want something now, or would a few months from now be OK? Here are some suggestions--being SPA-oriented, these are also popular SPA planes:

--I'd certainly agree with the Kaos-but it isn't really what I'd call "big"
--Tiger 60 is also a good choice

--Airborne Models is going to re-introduce their "new and improved" Intruder 90 ARF in the next couple months. It is a great performer, very popular with SPA, but you may or may not need some help at the beginning.
--Home and Hobby Solutions kits the Taurus, (Primus) 70"span laser cut kit. This is a GREAT flying plane. They are also going to be releasing a new King Altair kit, (my favorite plane) in the next few months. This plane has an 80" span, yet can fly well on a .60 2-stroke or .91 4-stroke.

--Two other ARFs that are excellent pattern trainers, but a bit smaller are the Airborne Models
T-34 Mentor, and Cermark's Javelin. They both have 58" spans, and are real bargains.

I've included a couple pictures--the King Altair and Javelin are in the back. The Intruder 90, (original version) is on the front right side. The red/orange/white plane is my new Altair

Hope this helps
