RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
Hi again Dave,
I just looked into OS website and found the list of discontinued spare parts for the two O.S. engines. O.S MAX .61 SF ABC-P (http://www.osengines.com/parts/xr17712.html) =============================================== OSMG4947 27703000 Cylinder & Piston ABC 61SF OSMG7715 27706000 Piston Pin 61SF OSMG7484 26617004 Piston Pin Retainer 60-77 OSMG3973 27705010 Connecting Rod HANNOII OSMG4651 27702000 Crankshaft 61SF/RF OSMG3060 26731002 Bearing - Front 40-240 OSMG3108 29030001 Bearing - Rear 61-300 O.S. I.e. will the kits contain the following: 1 pc of AAC Liner 1 pc of Piston 1 pc of Piston Pin 1 pc of Piston Pin retainer With Kind Regards, Gunnar |
RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
Bootalini: No possibility that we will do the old YS 60 short stroke. Sorry.

RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
I would go for a set for the 61RF engine, but I would prefer regular ABC (brass cylinder liner).
I have never heard of an aluminum liner. FBD. |
RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
Call Dave Shadel to order, his number is listed above. Ask him about aluminum versus brass liners. I think you will change your mind.
You will not be disappointed with performance or durability! Regards, Will B. |
RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
We will not be making them in ABC. The AAC setups have proven that they are superior in heavy applications for racing and ducted fan use.
I am still awaiting orders and will not begin production until a minimum number is reached. We are halfway there at this point. Dave |

RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
Damn, I missed a RF that was for sale for about 88 € , that makes about 110 $

FBD. --------------- Get your sweaty hands on an Enya 40 - 45CX. Put it on your model and peak it out the way you normally would. Then peak it a bit more. You won't hurt it. This engine (either size) has the ability to run leaner than other configurations. The result is that the engine hangs in there during the extreme vertical maneuvers without a hiccup or a hint of a sag. This is why AAC construction is my absolute favorite of all. Ed Cregger |
RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
Dave,
I have read a document from Webra, that told the difference between ring / ABC and AAR. You are right, they will live longer, and even give more power. They are used in Webra's most powerfull engines, as well as YS as well it seems. AAR seems the way to go, but still loving ABC as well. But one question. Due to the weight difference of the piston, isn't it necessary to rebalance the piston/rod/crankshaft/... for the lower piston weight ? Anyway, as when I was very young, and tuning motorcycles, this was an issue, certainly if you wanted to get a high rpm. But certainly, the big end will love the lower weight. Is there a way to tune the AAR to get even higher RPM ? |
RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
AAR is a ringed setup. We're not making ringed setups. AAC is a chromed aluminum liner with aluminum piston. The piston weight is essentially the same as the stock part.

RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
Let's go guys. We won't produce these unless the market is there.

RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
Dave,
Do you want us to start calling you with our orders? |
RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
YES YES YES.
I've already called and a few others have as well. Call him and let him know how many you want!! Please do it soon. This is when Dave has time for our special order as pylon season will be in full swing soon and he'll be a LOT busier! -WILL B. |

Please call Dave to let him know that you want to order. |
RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
I do not know if you have done it or not..... but if you have not..... try putting a post in the "Glow Engines" forum about these piston/liners sets.

RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
Just an update for all of you. We have all the liners blanked out and will start milling the ports next week. All of you guys who want RF parts will get Hanno style porting, don't fret, it works fine in the RF crankcase.
Will keep you posted as work progresses. |
RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
Dave said he was willing to make liners for the FSR as well, if he got an order for 50 .... I would take 2 or 3... Any other outthere intrested in this as well ?
|
RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
I would take 3 FSR sets.
Thats 5-6 so far. Jeff |
RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
I'll take 2 fsr sets
|
RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
Once again, we are not making these for FSR's. Only for RF, SF, and Hanno Special. At present we are porting the liners.
Most of the parts have been sold. If you want to be on the list for any, contact me at [email protected]xx Drop the x's Thanks, Dave |
RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
We have started chroming liners as of yesterday. I will start shipping these out in about 10 days.
Thanks, Dave |
RE: Ballistic Pattern ABC Engine Liners
Dave,
Are you not the guy from http://www.pspec.com/default.asp ? [X(] In that case my excuses, but they would accept the FSR order, was confirmed to 8178. regards, Steven |
