The real balistic pattern

Hi. The real balistic pattern was back in the late 1980's. For Masters their was a list of 45 maneuvers you would pick with different K-factors. You could pick your best 12 maneuvers and try to get the maximum K-factor. I was fortunate enough to win the 1987 Nationals the last time non-turnaround pattern was held at the Nats. That sure was fun back then but now the air space it would take to do that type of flying isn't available any more. You could do slow, 4 and 8 point rolls from horizon to horizon with no box to worry about. Jim

those sure were fun days. Do you still have any of your .60 size ships. I think I have your old hippo, it was white with yellow and red stripes and it had those weird goldberg retracts (taildragger) I bought it from Reid Bishop in 1988

It is at our field and we still fly like that! Nice long blacktop runway and inside the Atlanta I285 beltway to boot.

That speck in the sky is a Tiporare flying at ballistic speed!
