What should I do with this stuff?
One Super Arrow one Standard.
Both engines never run...one Rossi and one OPS.
I don't want to ship them so...

Shipping is easy. UPS or FedEx will pick them up at your doorstep. Go to their website and open an account with them. It is free. There you'll see the information that you will have to supply. You will need a credit card.

Wal-Marts sells big rolls of bubble plastic. Wrap the parts in that. The hardest part is finding a large enough box. If you can't, then you build your own box from several smaller boxes. It is easy. Even I could do it. Now the wife does it.

You'll make more money if you sell everything separately. If those are Rhom-Air retracts, I'll buy them from you. I already have enough engines, but I'm sure that someone else will want them. Yeah, it is a little work, but you'll get a big return.

If I've missed the point (as usual) it is because my eyes jitter when I'm tired and I misread stuff. Sorry about that.

The problem is I don't know what to ask for the stuff...seperately or all together.
My only idea would be to put it on "the bay" with some rediculous reserve to test the waters.

I used to sell direct using just rec.models.rc.air (before RCU existed). I used to post a for sale notice and then list a cut-off date and time. Whoever bid the most within that time frame got the item. Talk about drive you crazy. Some folks do not understand that your email can sit for a considerable period of time before it is forwarded by the system where it is residing. It is a good way to lose friends, believe me. <G>

Now I just put things on the auction sites and let the folks battle it out between themselves.

You don't have to use a reserve price IF you start the beginning bidding price at the lowest amount you will accept for the item. Searching past auctions on the Bay will put you in the ballpark as to the actual value of items. Folks don't bid as eagerly when you start at the minimum price, but if the object doesn't sell, you can relist, usually for free because it didn't sell the last time. I've ran the same item two or three times with the same starting bid amount and it eventually sold.

Timing is everything in auction sales. What wouldn't sell last week for a low price can easily sell for two or three times as much in the near future. Unfortunately, we sellers sometimes think that our items are worth more than the market is prepared to pay, but patience and relisting will usually get you a decent price.

I see you have a set of wings which *may*(??) exceed the UPS perameters?? So....As I understand it...Guys in a situation like that use Greyhound for shipping...

I have never done it so I may not know exactly what I'm talking about...That's just what I've heard...Apparently Greyhound is very reasonable for shipping the larger stuff...

May be worth investigating...

Yes, I have heard the same about Greyhound.
The packages are supposed to receive better handling since it's done by the driver rather than machines.
The only downside I have heard is that there can be a $300 limit on insurance.
Folks usually are able to deal with that by shipping multiple packages rather than everything in one big box.

All good information. Here's some more (at least 2 cents worth :)
Some of the local 'MAILBOX' houses will pack and ship for you. Of course they charge for it!
The shipping rules seem to change regularly so you should check some shipper's websites for cost of large boxes. Size has a much bigger impact than weight lately and it is becoming prohibitively expensive to ship 'oversize' boxes. That said, the Arrow was not a very big airplane (I can't remember the dimensions of the SUper Arrow, I believe it is just a bit bigger) and may be shipped in a 'regulation' box.
The Greyhound alternative is very viable, though a bit more expensive.

As for the value of that stuff: I'll go out on a limb and say that each kit and engine is worth roughly $150, but that's based on the original prices. Ebay is a great way to sell stuff. The Arrow kits are relatively rare; soooo if there are some 'hungry' bidders out there you may get a surprising amount of money for one or all of your items (I've seen a NIB Hanno Special sell for more than $900 on ebay). I don't think I've seen a Quality Line Arrow kit on Ebay (definitely not in the past 5-6 years) so there is no reference point.
