Classic 70"s pattern ship

1 Attachment(s)
About 10 years ago I started building this pattern ship and then somehow stopped.Well I dug her out the other day and have decided to finish it up.I found all the parts but have lost the plans and have no idea what I have. I know the motor mounts are drilled for an old Supertigre g60 bluehead which I also still have too. What ever this plane is I'm sure it will make an excellent flyer and since its 90% built I don't need the plans anyway.

It looks like a Vertigo to me too but the fin rudder line is all wrong.

The wing sweep is wrong for a P6. This plane has a straight TE. See photo #2

The fuselage and tail look like a Phoenix 6, maybe mod. Phx. 6 with a straight T.E. wing?

I sorta got out of pattern after the late 70's though...what does the Phoenix 7 and 8 wing planform look like?

It may be a Phoenix I'm not sure.It was a long time ago and two houses so I have lost all the documentation.I do seem to remember it was a Canadian designed plane.
It has a wooden beam engine mount and the beams go clear back to the 2nd bulkhead. Where does the phoenix balance??? I will use that as my benchmark.

It's definitely a Phoenix 6. When the wing was joined, you may have sanded the sweep out of it accidently.

Pheonix 6 but the wing is wrong. Airfoil looks about right but somehow the sweep is gone.

I can see its definitely a Phoenix, you can see from the pics.I got this kit so long ago that I don't remember much about it except someone else started the wings, and I joined them. There is a extra set of wings that I have with the same airfoil, and these are swept. I will take some pictures of the swept wings and post them too. It seems the mystery is solved its a Phoenix with some type of straight wings. I got this kit from my wifes grandfather an he was always changing things around, when he died I grabbed the wings with the sweep too.I think I will continue to finish this as a straight winged Phoenix and see what happens. Thank's for all your help

It is a Bridi Planes Deception i have one of them and just about to fly it and have put a Supertigre 90 in it as it has same foot print as 60 and gives you that little bit extra punch when you need it.I got mind out of a shad of old planes never finished it is a pattern plane and i have been told it fly's like a dream and is very easy to fly , hope this helps by for now Graham.

The rudder's wrong for a Deception. See the photo in this newsletter:

I built and flew a Bridi Deception for a while. It doesn't look anything like the model in the pictures. The Deception does not have a turtle deck at all. Just a bubble canopy. That and the wing has swept leading and trailing edges (swept forward on the latter - a triple taper wing, like the Kaos).
