http://nsa01.casimages.com/img/2007/...9331680739.jpg i am very proud to present you my curare... this is also to thanks everybody on this forum... the plan is from kato and provided by ppljr.. the skills are from 8188 on his thread about the aurora... i did the same as he shows... this is the very first time i ve got a very good airplane, flying straight and handsome... i believe the curare flies much better than the others, as it is perfectly neutral... i want to thanks everybody here, where i have learned more in six month than in 25 years of practice... |

Congratulations on your beautiful Curare. You've got me LUSTING after one. I have wanted one for years and never had one. I saw Prettner fly his and win the TOC back in the '70s. He flew the most perfect rolling circle I've ever seen.....in fact the most perfect any maneuver, I've ever seen. Does anyone know if anyone kits the Curare now? If NITRO or any of the ARF companies offered this airplane, they would make a fortune. I would be first in line to get one. man, i searched and searched, i have ordered a fiberglass kit in germany.... nothing.... i ve been on ebay... nothing... so i have decided to scratch...in any case, a real curare is an all wooden airplane looking like made of fiberglass...

About your picture in the left margin...is that an F-104? The Starfighter is one of my all-time favorite airplanes. I just missed getting a ride in an F-104G 2-seater waay back in 1965. The 331st Fighter Interceptor Squadron was stationed at Webb AFB in Big Spring, Texas. I was a TV reporter at the time and doing a story on the Air Force. Unfortunately, the only 2-seater they had was sent to California for some maintenance and I had to report for basic training in the Navy just a few days before the F-104 returned to the base. However, I did get a ride in a T-38 Talon which was the thrill of a lifetime for me. Best Regards JC "I've got 3-green" |

The F-104 is an Amazing Aircraft....Kelly Johnson..nuff said...he he Actually the airplane in my avatar is the F-22 Raptor....I know it's hard to tell from the little pic...I can see the F-104 resemblance in that shot.. :) Sorry to stray off topic... You have created a beautiful rendition of the Curare. Thank you for posting the pics.
I have narrowed the field of BPA planes down to three choices. The Curare, The Tiporare and the Phoenix 8. Of the three, the Phoenix 8 is probably the weakest performer, but I love how it looks. Not that the other two choices aren't very handsome in their own right. The pearlescent white covering on the inboard of each wing panel is interesting. I don't think I have seen that available in the USA. May I ask which brand it is? Ed Cregger |

this is a full paint job, the covering has been made of fiberglass plus epoxy... it has not been that long to built it, cutting the parts is the only difference of time with the a kato kit... again, all the techniques have been inspirated from the thread of this forum... i don t think a ready to fly kit is possible, the construction is too demanding to be made with theire techniques... the ready to fly airplanes are more a consumer product than a state of art... most of time, such aircrafts looks like a pity after a few flights, and they are shaped to be sold... whith the self aligning construction of the kato plan, everythink is ok on the first flight:

I expected to see a finished model, so I translated the sanded primer into pearlescent white plastic covering. Thanks for the correction. Now it seems so obvious. (blush) Ed Cregger |
