Does anyone know about this plane?
After a year of sitting in my garage I have started the rebuil process and would like to find out all I can about the plane. CG Maufacturer Engine size Just any info you might have will be helpful Thanks vic |
RE: LEGEND V
It's Sweet...I "know of" the Legend only because of some fellows I've bought some stuff from in Canada...I'll give you a link to their site and you could ask the same question there if you don't get much info here...
I bought a couple of YS 61AR's and Bolly Pipes from a few different guys up there...I think they all flew Legends at one time or another...One is still flying his...But were they Legend V's?? I don't know for sure... There seems to be several guys who have experience with that aircraft up there though...Wonder if it was a Caniadian design?? It's suppose to be a Great Airplane...I do know that much...Sorry I couldn't help more... Here is the link to the RC Canada forums..Precision Aerobatics section: http://www.rccanada.ca/bb/viewforum....5da66f742d0ebe If you can't find the info you seek by posting there...Or don't want to post there...Let me know and I'll ask around for you...I know a few fellows I could PM and should be able to find the scoop pretty easy... Have Fun... Chuck |
RE: LEGEND V
I looked on the canada forum but the posts related to the legend date back to 2005
and there are no current post on it. If you do'nt mind ask around for me and see if you can find in info thanks vic |

RE: LEGEND V
I remember last year talking to a guy and I told him I was going to use a OS 120 fs in it and he said that it was not enough power to fly it so I decided to use a OS 160 instead.
In looking at the posts they seem to be using .60 size engines in them. Do you think the 160 is way too much? |
RE: LEGEND V
It's Canadian. Designed and flown by Greg Marsden.

RE: LEGEND V
I think you gotta watch those posts...It appears the Legend has a few variations...I see the Legend 3 and Legend 4 may be 60 size...The only reference I saw to the Legend V seemed to run a bigger engine...
Can you measure the length and wingspan?? I don't really know very much about it other than allot of guys seem to have owned one...And It's apparently a great flying plane... I have a message into one of the guys...Maybe he'll write back...I'll post as soon as I get any info... Ahh...So it is a Canadian design...Thanks... Have Fun... Chuck |

RE: LEGEND V
I have posted a request in the RC Canada forums per my buddies suggestion...He mentioned that his experience with the Legend is minimal...But there were some guys who had made the switch to IMAC who were apparently very familiar with the Legend...I have another PM into another fellow too...But he's usually a little tougher to get a hold of...
Anyhow..Here is a link to the RC Canada thread...We'll see if there are any hits there?? http://www.rccanada.ca/bb/viewtopic.php?t=39623 Have Fun... Chuck |

RE: LEGEND V
Hi Chuck and VMEEK
I have flown the legend for a couple of seasons. The Legend is a Canadian design as described by another fellow. It also has been in different revisions, however there were 2 sizes that I know of. One was 60 size wingspan of around 68 inches or so, and then there was a 120 size also. You didn;t mention the measurements, so the wingspan will give you an idea which one it is. I was flying my 60 size legend with an OS 61RF with a tuned pipe using a 12x10 or a 13x8 prop. It had plenty of power with that setup. It is a terrific plane to fly. If your plane is not the 60 size and is a 120 size, I have seen one with a YS120 having plenty of power. An OS120 is not equal in power to a YS120 and is heavier, on the other hand, OS160 might be too much and heavy. Hope that helps. Maqsood |

Thank You Maqsood!!

Its a 68in wingspan but a .60-.90 is lost inside the nose. I decided to put a S/K 130 in it. the link will show you the plane and give the dimentions vic |
RE: LEGEND V
That looks like a 120 size, the 130 should be good for it.

Here are a few pictures of the Legend as it is in the process of being painted.
The graphics are all vinyl that I cut myself with a vinyl sign cutter. Its real easy to design and cut logos for all planes with this cutter. |
RE: LEGEND V
Vmeek,
Thats a great looking plane you have there!!:D Excellent paint job too. Can't wait to hear how it flies. |
I was searching for threads on the Legend V as it was one of my favorite airplanes to compete with. This airplane in this thread is very pretty but it's not a Legend V. The Legend canopy was very different. The front part of the canopy was part of the fuselage mold, the rear half was the removable part.
