Control throws for PA-2 / Aurora

As soon as my exhaust header comes in I'll be in the air - can't wait! I do have questions about the control throws on the plane. Does anybody have the suggested throws? If not, do I set it up like a modern pattern plane w/ ~11 degrees throw on the elevator and 13-15 degrees on the ailerons? Also, do I need to program in aileron differential, or do I see how it flies and go from there?

Thx,
Tim

RE: Control throws for PA-2 / Aurora

Was hoping flywilly or one of the current/previous Aurora owners would jump on this question...I tried last night to look at an Aurora60 print but I can't read Japanese... ;)

I'll open my kits when I get home to see if there is any info in them?? Not sure there is...Been a while since I've looked at them so I forget...

Now I've "known" the Aurora prints were in all Japanese since I've had them...But it never really dawned on me until last night when I needed to get some information off them.... :D ...It's going to make building allot of fun!! I've seen others mention that little detail...But it just never really "hit home" ...

Anyone got a Japanese translator handy?? :D

Is there some translating software out there?? I wonder if you could copy the writing into a PDF or Word document then use a program to translate it??

Chuck,

If you can create a document, then you might be able to translate it here:

Let's hope somebody can help us!! :)

RE: Control throws for PA-2 / Aurora

Hey Tim,
Those throws sound OK. I can't remember exactly what the throws were on my Aurora. When in doubt, my approach has been to have a bit more throw with plenty of exponential or just use dual rates (I barely use dual rates any more, myself). I don't even measure the throws, just make sure that both ailerons match (and both elevators). I don't remember having any differential in my Aurora ailerons and very little pitch mixing with rudder (if any). I may still have the Aurora set-up on my transmitter.
Good luck and have fun!!
Will

Will,

Thanks for the info. I've got a Stylus, so I can program in several different rates and have them all available with the flip of a couple of switches. I'm sure I'll get it, but it's always nice to have somebody confirm your thoughts. :)
