aeromaster bipe wing?
Does anyone have an opinion about the wing on the Aeromaster. Swept or straight? Which wing works best for the different types of flying whether you fly 3D, pattern or just for sport?

RE: aeromaster bipe wing?
Hey fg56,
I've flown all 3 of the Aeromaster variations. My dad and I built several of them back iin the '70s. Mine all had the small wings, but my dad tried the 2 larger variations. I would stick with the smaller wings. The version with both wings swept (the largest configuration) had noticably more drag and seemed less aerobatic. All of our Aeromasters were powered with OS goldhead or blackhead engines - not exceptionally powerful. I did get to fly an Aeromaster powered with an OS 60 FSR (the small wing configuration) that belonged to a fellow club member and really liked the additional power. My dad scratch built one (the small winged configuration) about 15 years ago and powered it with an OS 91 4-stroke. He loved it. Great airplane (a personal favorite)! Will BArtlett |
RE: aeromaster bipe wing?
fg,
You can fly an Aeromaster with both wings swept in pattern!!! IMHO it's the most precise flying Aeromaster setup. Great flying plane w/an OS .61 FSR/ABC..... what a hoot to fly.... I've gotta get another one of those. Dan Carolna Custom Aircraft |

tell me about the Corsair MK II. I think that is what I have that I flew years ago.

RE: aeromaster bipe wing?
There really isnt going to be a different set-up for different flying and there isnt anything about the Aeromaster that is 3D capable. The sport and pattern swould be the same. Its a classic and a great timeless design though.

RE: aeromaster bipe wing?
rainedave posted a picture of the plans a while ago, and I noticed that the wings are actually semi-symmetrical. I never know that.
