Tiporare LG Question
All right, I know I am asking the wrong group on this one... But I'm going to do it anyway.:D
Is there any reason that using fixed taildragger gear won't work on a Tipo? I like taildraggers and I like fixed gear for simplicity and sturdiness. I would use one of the carbon LG sets that sweep backwards to get the wheels under the LE of the wing with a fuse mounting point. I think the tailwheel will need to be a bit tall to keep the anhedral stab off the ground, but that is not a big problem overall. I am planning on using a Jett muffler on a ST90, so it will be the flatter stab arrangement which simplifies the problem. Anything I am missing? Thanks, Mark |
RE: Tiporare LG Question
The nose gear for the Tiporare is super simple to install and maintain. Lots of space for the gear.

RE: Tiporare LG Question
BLASPHEMY!!! Another reason for going w/ retracts (even if you elect to make it a taildragger) is handling. Look at the Tipo article that was posted in the past few days. Dick H relates in the article that having the gear hanging down has a noticeably detrimental effect, especially in rolling maneuvers. Plus, retracts add a 10% cool factor!

It's your plane. Make it like you want to.
