Is the Typhoon 900 a BP plane?
 

I have a Typhonn 900 kit (plans, cowl, canopy, all wood necesary including for planking the wings, but you have to cut every single piece).
Is this model consider to be for the PBA class?

I'm not sure if the Typhoon would fly like the 70's and 80's tuned pipe high speed planes but I suppose you could put a big engine on one and try it.
Check your PM's, I need to get a copy of your plans to finish a Typhoon 900 I got off of eBay last year.

I think the BPA design year cut-off is 1995 or 1996 and max engine displacement is 1.20 cid. Your Typhoon 900 meets both of those criteria. It was orignally designed for the first YS 120(the SF version) and flew well with the YS 91AC. Any current 1.20 displacement engine will make it pretty ballistic ;)
