Chris,

That plane belonged to Randy Schwersenska from Indiana. He crashed while practicing on Friday for the Hotlanta contest. You can probably reach him through the Senior Pattern Association discussion list. I'm sure that he can fill you in on all the details.

I'll be surprised if it is a classic pattern model. Of course, I'm continually surprised, so that doesn't count for much

The canopy reminds me of a Chinese model such as the Exceleron, or something like that.

Not a classic. Great Planes Tracer.

thanks Jeff, and its okay David.
It doesn't really look like a tracer, the tracer has the gear in the wings, this one does not. its a taildragger but the gear that were on it were attached to the bottom of the fuse.

The manual for the Great Planes Tracer has fixed gear as an option. In the photos the covering is stripped from the sides of the plane. The openings in sides from the wing back match the tracer.

That is a Great Planes Tracer from kit form. I still have the firewall. I hope you can make use of it and repair it. Keep in mind it is fast. Too slow and it will fall out of the sky and rekit itself on a bank turn. Randy

Well hey Randy,
Well I have stolen some parts off it to fix my other planes with, I noticed it was not on the SPA list of planes so after that decided not to fix it, but my gf wants to attempt to learn to repair, maybe one day when nothing else to do.
