Eyeball Specs

I recently downloaded the article about the Eyeball from the Trenton fliers site. I have been tracing the plan in auto-cad in hopes of building a smaller version, maybe 1/2a or .15 size. I cannot find on the plans or in the article any mention of the wingspan or length of the fuse. I can scale the plan if I have either of these. Since I am scaling it down, I could just set the wing-span to what ever I want. I would like to have the originals specs though.

I've redrawn the plans in AutoCAD for Early RC a few years back. I used an original set of plans from Art himself. The fuselage measures 42.66 from the rear of the fuselage not including the rudder or more simplier the rudder hinge point to the front of the nose ring not the spinner. The wing span is 58.75 less the wing tips. Hope this helps.

There was also an article published in MAN for a smaller version of the Eyeball called the Eyelash. It used an Ace tapered core for the wing. If you want a copy of the article, PM me with your email addy and I'll send it out tonight.

Thanks for the help guys. I would like the article Freebird. I leaning more to the Norvel .061 powered version. I will likely draw a built-up wing and not use a foam core.

If you're going to do that, you might be able to use the drawing for the Mach None or the Pacer. There's a site out there that has both already drawn. I don't have the link with me as I'm at work. The only thing would be the center section, I believe the Eyelash has a straight center section. If I find the link, I'll attach it.

Here's the link. You gotta remember that a lot of 1/2A designs used Ace foam cores, so the built-up version should be very close to what you're looking for.

That would be this site

http://my.pclink.com/~dfritzke/

I have built three or four models from this site, including a pacer.

This project will be as much for my learning to use auto-cad as it will be to build a plane. I auto-cad at work, but only know enough to get by.
