Info on Hyde Mount - Type A

Anyone with knowledge, I appreciate the advise. Just purchased Focus Sport, YS110, Hyde mount, Type A. Looking at the back of the mount, 4:40 bolts here. Mounting this to the firewall/block, 4:40 screws ? I am used to at least 6:32. Do you all use 4:40 for this powerplant ? I am not up to speed yet on the instructions, just inventory of all parts received.

Thanks,
Vince

Vince,

Isn't it m4 x 40 mm? (metrisch)

4 x 40 mm = 5/32 " x 1 9/16"?

Maybe you just woke me up. In many years of using 4:40 bolts, and other sizes, I only know the numbers and physical sizes. The package sez : 4:40 - 6:32, etc. If it was 6:32, it is definitely a larger size then 4:40. Some engineer's may be amused at my answer, but that is all I know. I have used 8:32 in the past, for a firewall mount. Looking again, I just pulled the mount out of the package. They are 6:32, not 4:40. My mistake. I am not sure about using 6:32 for the YS110 on the mount. I guess follow instructions, don't knock success.

It'll be fine.
I use only a three hole pattern and thats using a YS 1.40.
The thing is, because they're so wonderful at absorbing vibration, those mounts can be mounted using far lighter-duty kit.
I know people that use a 4mm balsa firewall, laminated on both sides with a thin Carbon Fiber mat.
And that's using 1.70's!
Enjoy.

Of course there's also the idea of a drill :D

Isn't it possible to drill out the mount holes?

David.
