OK Guys,

I know who this is, but I don't have a clue what the model is. Let's see how good you guys really are. Start sounding off!

that's a big one. my limited knowledge of older pattern planes is too limited. but there was a large pattern plane shown here before.

Cees,

You maybe on the right track, it might be an eariler version of the Sabre Hawk. The model with the flaps is a Sabre Hawk IV.

Free Bird,

My answer was Sabre-Hawk but, Javelin could be better. I think CAsniffer is right.

RE: Test Your Knowledge

Taurus Flyer,
I deduced that this plane is called the Javelin because a high aspect ratio design was referenced in Ed Izzo's bio on the AMA website.

http://www.modelaircraft.org/files/museum/bio/Izzo.pdf

It's in the "As a Designer" section of the article.

Thanks.

During the time I knew Ed, his AMA number was always 1220.
So is this his plane he's showing off?

Thanks for the link CA! I would have to agree that it's a Javelin from the pictures in the article. It's alway nice to put a name with a great looking model.

well, it must have had. As far as I know, Ed Izzo "invented" the foam wing
