Banshee
1 Attachment(s)
I just aquired a Fiberglass Bashee. It is in fair shape considering the age. I have the wing and fuse, both need stripping for repaint. the stab and rudder are missing. I emailed Eureka to get a stab and such.
My real question is what is the difference between the 'glass and wood version. The wing look different, in particular the ailerons. Mine has the barndoor ailerons, but they are not constant chord. They are tapered. Think of this...the leading edge of the aileron is parallel with the high point of the airfoil. This makes the root chord of the aileron larger than the tip chord. The interesting part abuot this is that it still has the 5/32" torque rods. They obviosuly cannot follow and remain parallel with the trailing edge of the wing like most designs. The torque rod passes just behind the gear plates in the wing thereby putting the exit point of the torque rod near mid-chord. Was this the way the 'glass Banshees were? see my ugly drawing... |
