High Point balancer!

Okay.

I've been searching for an hour and can't find the guy who manufactures High Point prop balancers. Thought I had it saved. Maybe that was before the last computer crash. Isn't the original manufacturer still making them but primarily makes other stuff? Who is it and how do I find his site? Anybody know?

Thanks,

Terry in LP

I thought Robart used to make them, but stopped. I wasn't aware someone else was making them.

Here is the modern day equivalent:

And there is this one:

Hope that helps. I am fortunate to still have my "classic" High Point balancer in my possession.

Yeah.

The DuBro is alright.

I still have my original too for what, 30 years? Also found a 'spare' on the big auction site a year or two ago. My original has a 'jewel case' that is so small it is difficult to fit all the parts back in. The spare has a larger case that everything easily fits in. Both prior to the Robart branded one. I even extended the legs with piano wire and brass tube to be able to balance up to 18" props. Could go higher as needed.

Thought I read here on RCU a while back that the original manufacturer still made them but doesn't advertise them. He produces other model? products now. Maybe electric a/c stuff? Had his site address saved but can't find it now. What was his name?

These are really nice tools for balancing model airplane props.

edit for crappy picture. Yeah, the 18" prop swings through.

I have 2 of them and still use it as my only balancer. Wish it had a larger central cone to hold the larger props better.

They are really good. Found the source. It is Dick Bennett atB&B Specialties at the link below.

Worth the price if you want to run balanced props.
