Maco Jet Star
I have this kit The Maco JET STAR designed by Ed Keck. Pattern plane 65" wing span for .56 to.61 Foam wings convetional balsa build up fuselage and tail.
Not sure when it was designed nothing on the plans or paper work in the kit. The only thing that refers to any date is the Newspaper that was used for packing. 1975. Anybody have any info?? tried to Google it, shows an old add for it but no date. Thanks ahead of time, Pete |

Check the VR/CS approved planes list. It's there, listed as being available in 1968. John Haffner is the keeper of the list so any updates you can provide would be appreciated. I believe Bob Noll flew one at Octoberfest last year.

This is Ed's slightly later ( 1971) Starfire which is kinda similar.

RE: Maco Jet Star
Jet Star was a nice airplane. As a kid, the kit was cheap and in my budget! It had a really hot HP 61, Rhom Airs and a Pro-Line radio and I really enjoyed flying it. The battery failed and it went straight into the concrete at Mitchell Field - I had to sit there for three hours with the pieces until my mother picked me up! I remember the picture on the box had whitewall wheels. I also seem to remember that there was built-in positive incidence in the wing which I ended up removing to get it to fly like I wanted it to. I also added a sub-fin and sub rudder to remove the KE coupling. Good luck with it!
