Can you help identify plane..?
1 Attachment(s)
Howdy, a friend just bought this used plane which appears to be a pattern ship from the 80-ies. It has a planked foam wing and GRP fuselage, can you help identify the model..??...thank you...Cheers/Harald

RE: Can you help identify plane..?
Midwest produced it back in its day

RE: Can you help identify plane..?
The Midwest kit didn't have a glass fuselage, it was built up balsa. There were a lot of small outfits that made glass fuselages back in the day.

RE: Can you help identify plane..?
There was a European kit of the Mach 1 as well, I think it was from Aviomodelli. You had to join the 2 fuse halves yourself.

RE: Can you help identify plane..?
Canardlover, I had one just like that, it was made in Sweden and a good copy of the mach1.
My fuse was badly warped so it went in the trashcan. I have a new wing and will build a new fuse for it. Who made the castings I don't know, mine was from Järfälla in Stockholm. |
RE: Can you help identify plane..?
Hi martenson, interesting info which I(we) will follow up on. And the fuse appears to be molded in one piece and not joined afterwards a la Aviomodelli.
Järfälla is not too far from where I live and BTW, martenson sounds rather swedish in particular if you spell it Mårtensson.Swedish ancestry..??!!....Cheers/Harald |
RE: Can you help identify plane..?
canardlover, Yes I have swedish ancestry infact I live in Sweden 40 km from you in Haninge :D
My fuselage was also molded in one piece Good luck Joakim Mårtenson |
