I forgot the name of this plane

While digging through some old stuff I came across the mould for this.
Now I forgot what this was. The car was 1976. |
RE: I forgot the name of this plane
That wasn't made from an old Sig kit was it? The fuse looks a litte rounder in the aft section and the wing fillets are nice too. But still reminds me of a Kouger style Sig. Maybe it's just the color scheme... Always loved the thunderbirds scheme.
How is the mold? Are you planning to restore them? DM is that a green Triumph TR-7? |
RE: I forgot the name of this plane
Looks like a Phoenix 6 or 7.

RE: I forgot the name of this plane
Was the Phoenix 6 or 7 around in 1976?
It does look like one. I made the mould from the original kit. I used to make 3 or 4 of one design and try to work the bugs out and have a couple spares for the competition season. The mould looks to be in good shape. I'll take a look and see if it hasn't warped, it's been in the corner with a few others a long time. I think I found some wing cores for it too. Paul Yes, that was a green TR-7. The number plate spelled "lemon". It truly was. |
RE: I forgot the name of this plane
Nice find Paul, I wish I had things like that laying around, That would definately get me cleaning the place up!:D
So this might be a modified version? Would be great if you end up finding a complete, ready to go plane in there as well. DM LOL, Lemon!! I had a '73 TR-6 in high school, painted Yellow! It matched the car as well. Nice to drive, but a lot of work |
RE: I forgot the name of this plane
I did find a few kits laying around and a closet full of engines, and a few sets of Rhom Air retracts.
I've gone all electric now, maybe I have to build a dedicated pattern ship again. Thanks for identifying the plane for me. I got rid of the TR-7 and now I have a 73 E-type taking up space in the garage. Paul |

[quote]ORIGINAL: pd1 Was the Phoenix 6 or 7 around in 1976? Yes. Dave Brown and I believe Mark Radcliff both flew the P6 in the 1975 worlds. The P7 came along in I beliebe 76 or 77. |
RE: I forgot the name of this plane
Thanks for all the help.
Now I'll have to make a couple of fuselage halves and see if they will mate up to each other. Paul |
