Super Curare?

This weekend I was at a swap meet and came accross a NIB Super Curare. It was not an MK kit but it did have a nice fiberglass fuse and decent wood with the kit. Who can tell me more about the design? Is it SPA legal? Did Hanno develop it? I never had heard of it and am curious to learn more about it. The seller wanted $325 for it so I passed, but am still interested in knowing more of what it was.

Never mind. I should have done a search first. Found several posts that describe most avail details.

Interesting classic pattern airplane, but no Tipo in looks! (IMHO)

It appears it was a kit company's spin off (Hobby Barn/Quality Line) of the Curare. Hanno did not develop it. It is not SPA legal but cetainly would fit with BPA. Best description I found was this:

"I am positive its not the Curare. From the pics I'm pretty sure its the Super Curare from Hobby Barn (Quality Line). It was a Curare with a reshaped nose and fin."

Here is the best photo I found from one thread...

I'm Jeolous... that is a beutiful flying Airplane. I had one that i flew in the 86 Nats in Lake Charles. Had a (and still have) the OS 61FSR and Mac Pipe. I used Dave Brown main retracts and Goldberg nose retract with Sonic? actuators. I may be wrong on the actuators... used Auto laquor and came out at about 7.5 #. used the light MK wheels.... it flew best with 11x7 1/4 top flight prop..... used it in Intermediate pattern. flew FAI pattern in concursos' enMexico tambien.... It met it's demise in 1987 at a fun fly where i was doing a demo and a kid turned on a transmitter he was using for a buddy box.. Have fun wtih it... wish i could find one as well some day.... Or a Tippo or FK Curare... FK made some good ones but called them different names.....
