J-Bipe ?'s

I would like some informtion on this biplane. I am very interrested in it. Can you share any experiences with this airplane with me?
Does it knife-edge? I'm curious what time-frame it was used to compete. Eureka mentions a "Firemaster" update to the kit that adds the headreast and a few other options. I like the "Firemaster" updates. Any comments are greatly appreciated. Brian |

Hi,
According to Eureka Aircraft the J-Bipe he sells is a short kitbased on re-release of the original J&J/Ral-Vin Industries kits. <font color="#0000ff">http://www.eurekaaircraft.com/airplanes/J&J.htm</font> A build ofsuch J-Bipe Ral-Vin Industries kit: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=6413002 Picture below of a J&J IndustriesJ Bipe advertisment from Model Airplane News, March 1974. /Bo |
RE: J-Bipe ?'s
bem,
after looking through this gentleman's build thread, I think I would like this bipe very much. Plus I could use it for SPA pattern if I ever had the chance in my neck of the woods. I have a very nice Magnum 91 four stroke that would work marvelously with this airplane. It is a shame though, I just purchased plans to a Super Kaos for this reason. I may have to shelve the Kaos for the J-Bipe. I talked a little with Don at Eureka through email correspondence. What a great person!!! I really like his philosophy. I plan to purchase many things from him in my future. Juno RC seems to be another good example of great people taking the bull by the horns to get back to the love of building, then the appreciateion for what you just built in flight. I'll be grinning ear to ear when I finish my UFO. I think I want this biplane. Now to convince the wife..... [sm=50_50.gif] I may need to change the name of this thread to: 101 ways to help me convince my wife the J-Bipe is a priority RIGHT NOW! Brian |
RE: J-Bipe ?'s
Hi,
I have bought a Curare and a Mach 1 short kit from Don at Eureka Aircraft. Nice short kits I must say. I really like that we have persons like Don that sell old classic short kits. When You look in a hobby catalog today You se nothing else that ARF's. Many young modelers probably do not know what "jewels" that can be built and flown if You just look back in the past. Never wrong to do some building by hand - of course it take some time to build, sanding, dope and paint (unless "Monocote" or similar is used) but that can be fun also actually. /Bo |
RE: J-Bipe ?'s
I wanted to bring this to the forefront again because I am hoping for more info. Nothing in particular, anything you may have. I like this bipe (...especially the Firemaster mods).
