Nice plane!

Can You tell us little more about this Benito BertolaniKomet plane?
When was it constructed, was it flying in any World Championship, drawings, was kit produced and by what manufacturer?

Hi Bem.

The model is an F3A from '70 years, out of production from many years.

The manufacturer was "BB Model" or "Duebì Model" (Benito Bertolani).
Now the company is called Eurokit, but they don't produce anymore the kits but only landing gears and accessories.

The model on the photo is built from an old kit in the 2005, weight 4,4Kg (9,7lbs).
The engine is the old Supertigre G60 Racing, also the engine is from '70 years.
11x7 carbon fiber propeller, entirely "open" tuned pipe.

The clip has been made today, with 37°C (99°F) and very much humidity in the air.


There are many version of the Komet from Bertolani... this is the Komet 1: fuselage in fiberglass with tail and wings in polystirene+obeche and external tuned pipe.

Hi,

have you tached the Super Tigre? It pulls very strongly, loops are looking great for a 4,4kg plane and this engine.

No, I never tached the engine.
This Supertigre 60 "R" is from 1969!! :D
On the piston there is a sized sign (filament of glow plug fallen in the cylinder when the engine run [:o] ).... but it pulls very good!
From my opinion it has the same performance of Picco 60 (it is better than Rossi 60 3 port), but the OPS 60 5 port and Rossi 60 5 port are better.
From the Supertigre "R" series there is also the 65 and the 71.

I am running a Rossi 60 5-port rear exhaust on my Kosmo 3 - great plane, great engine!
It turns 13.600 on ground with 11x8 prop, pipe is a Hatori copy, quite good quality.

Had great luck to get this Bertolani plane kit years ago, and finished it 2009. It needed to be fired by an italian engine, so I chose the Rossi. I do have no experience with Super Tigres.

Compliments for the Kosmo, is really nice!
The Rossi 5 port is one of the powerful engine on 60 class!
