Help with plane I.D.

I'm tryihg to I.D. an old 40-size pattern ship I've had for many years (yeah, I KNOW I should remember what I built, but I simply don't). I built the plane around 1987, and remember being told at that time that the kit was our of production. IIRC, the kit came from somewhere out of NY state, but it could have come from Sheldon's, as I was getting a lot of my stuff there at the time. The plans were apparently lost around 14 years ago during a move when the movers "misplaced" several boxes of RC-related stuff. I'd like to ID the plane with the idea of finding plans and building another. This old bird has literally hundreds of flights, and the frame is getting tired, with the lower aft fuse getting soft from landing stress. If it helps with the ID, the turtle was made from 3 thick balsa blocks (3/8's, I think), which were then carved, planed, and sanded until mostly gone. The WS is 56", length from spinner to tip of tail 50". Here's pics if anyone can tell me how to get these things to upload as expanding thumbnails, I'd appreciate it.

You guys are good! An ID in what, 30 minutes? Now all I have to do is try to find some plans. The Firebird could use a larger rudder, but otherwise it's a very honest and enjoyable plane.

Yes, it's GREEN, but it's the same covering that's been on it since built in 1987, and it's in surprisingly good shape, considering the number of flights it's had. Some kind of kryptonite covering, I think.
