Georgetown Race March 26,2011
OK Club 40 racers, it’s time to dust off and clean that oily mess you put in the corner last November. March 26 2011 is the first Texas race here in Georgetown. The RCPRO rules have been set for 2011 and the only significant change is that changing or removing engine head shims is permitted. Everything else is the same, 4.5 lbs.; 40 size engines and all safety items will be inspected, etc. etc. Here is a link to the RCPRO rules. www.rcpro.org/html/rules/club_40/rules.htm It is each pilot’s responsibility to know the rules. They are pretty basic and easy to understand.
While pre registration is not required I would appreciate a response from those that are coming so we can have enough food and drinks. The entry fee will be $20.00 and this will include a meal ticket. For more information go to our club web site. www.gamarc.org

RE: Georgetown Race March 26,2011
I have received several E-mails about Club 40 rules in Georgetown. So here are the main points. I don’t want anyone to be surprised. Follow all the rules and you will be Golden.
1. Any size STOCK prop (no modifications). The most competitive ones that we use are the APC 10X5 and 10.5X4.5 or the MA 10X6N. Some guys are using the new MA 9X7.5 F-1 prop.
2. Weight must be 4.5 lbs. or more.
3. Any sport 40 engine that cost less than $120.00. No racing engines. Most guys and running the TT PRO 40, and some are using the GMS 40
4. Baffle MUST be in the muffler for those engines that come with baffles.
5. Bladder tank on muffler pressure is OK.
6. Removing or changing engine head shims is now permitted.
There will be a tech inspection of ALL planes before the race, and the top four place engines WILL be opened for inspection. (Head removed and sleeve pulled)

Hay y’all the Georgetown field is set for racing. The pylons are up, the grass is cut and the wind is straight down the runway. Come and practice. The first race of the season is always hectic especially if you haven’t flown around the poles since last year.

Thanks for the event Bob. Had a good time as usual and the racing was some of the most competitive yet. Congrats to the Winners as well as all the other racers who participated and played within the rules.

The Georgetown race is in the books. The day started with a tech inspection that found a few planes under weight and all engines being looked at very carefully.
We had 21 pilots competing in some of the best racing I have ever seen in a Club 40 event. It was wing-tip to wing-tip and prop to tail in every heat. There were two mid airs and one entanglement on take off and several people crashing their planed without help from anyone else. Kind’a that nervous thing when you over role and pull up. One mid air was between father and son and Jeff Large destroyed his dad’s plane without any damage to his plane. In the first round Ted Dziedzic set fast time for the day. After that the cut-bug got Ted until he and Mike Walther got together coming around pylon one, resulting in a spectacular re-kiting of two planes. Fred French managed to thread his way through the pack to take first place for the day. Way to go Fred! Fred' s engine was opened and found to do 100% stock.
We all know that having a race requires help from people willing to do the work. Thanks to all the workers our race was a huge success. Also a special thanks to Ritch's Brew for supplying the fuel for our Club 40 race
Here are the results:
Place Best time
1 Fred French 1:28.44
2 Gary Fisher 1:30.60
3 Ken Hopson 1:28.15
4 Steven Fabianke 1:31.44
5 Gary Alphin 1:33.68
6 Chuck Esh 1:36.63
7 Mike Buckalew 1:37.65
8 Richard Moll 1:39.12
9 Stephen Bird 1:32.13
10 Mike Walther 1:32.22
11 Bob Petrinec 1:40.63
12 Steve Blackwell 1:47.90
13 Jim McGuinn 1:42.13
14 Jim Pope 1:44.72
15 Danny Fulmer 1:41.00
16 Ted Dziedzic 1:25.90 **
17 Jeff Large 1:37.10
18 Mike Fisher 1:41.00
19 Terry Large 1:46.65
20 Jerry Stafford 1:56.53

Bob Petrinec CD
I have trying to attach some pictures of our race but can not figure out how to do it. Can someone help or add pics in another post

Nice pics Ted!
It is interesting how a camera can fool you on how far away something is, in the last picture, those houses in the background are 1 mile away! [X(]
