I hope I don't have to be at work for very long tomorrow morning. I hope to get out there to watch some of the race. My dads got the timer and he's charging up the battery for tomorrow.

Guy's The first one is in the books and it was a good one !! I will gather up the results and give a report with some pictures as soon as I catch my breath. One thing I know for sure, trying to CD the contest and fly is tuff !! We had some great help from a lot of people and made the job a whole lot easier !! A big THANKS to all !! The new start Clock worked perfect thanks to David and His Dad, you need to see this one if your going to make one for your club. (more on this later ) Anyway I'll get all the details together and a few pictures ..

WOW,  Great to see all the local folks on here!  A surprise to see 'Alabaster' .    Just moved up from FL and setting up the shop.   Did get a chance to visit the field and meet a few people.

D2,
thanks for a great time and good show. There was some good close racing all day that was lots of fun for all involved.
Thanks also to the Alabaster members that put in all their hard work volunteering to make the day a success.

I just gotdone going thru Jim Andrews engine to clean it out and to get the 3 pounds of Alabaster dirt out of it. I think it will live to fly another day. He called me while ago to say that he thinks he found the reason that his plane I was flying went down. The on/off switch had shorted out.
That would maybe explain why I had no controlas it went on its way to take the dirt nap.

David G, aka Opie, your new digital start clock worked like a charm. Thanks to you and your dad Jim for building it, it is a hit !!!

After 5 rounds of heat races to determind the pilots that would fly in the A -B and C main we had only one Mid air and one crash !!
Not too bad for the first race [:@] Mike Talley and John McGowan had to fly off because of a points tie to see which one would go into the A main !! You guesed it They mid aired (ouch) They both were placed in the B main flying their back up airplane. Mike Conner was the next hi point man and was moved into the A main.

Greg Doe won the A main with a close race from Rick Grim for second, Mike Conner and David Phillips II Finished 3rd and 4th .. The B main was won by Mike Talley with David Phillips III a close second, Randy Bosworth and John McGowan were 3rd and 4th. In the C main Ernie Duffey was the top dog and came away with first place followed by Jim Andrews in 2nd and Don Peck in 3rd Jim Reining 4th !! Mike Conner was the big winner of the Sky Raider plane we gave away, Hope you enjoy it Mike ..
Like I said before it was a great day for racing and all seem to have a good time !!
See Ya at the next race in Harvest ....

Good job on the first race guys! Sounds like you guys had some good rounds and mains! We are running just 6 rounds at our race this coming Saturday like NMPRA. Myself I like running the A, B & C mains I like running the guys that have the best rounds together for the overall win instead of just points at the end of the day!

Hey Gary ,
If we had just raced for points I would have finished First, instead I wound up in fourth place with a cut [:@]
I still like the way it brings the hi point flyers together for all the marbles !! All three races were close down to the last lap and had everone on their toes .
We also did the Hi Lo flag instead of radios on the turn Judges and it worked with out a hitch. When we had a cut, the judge would blow his horn and hold the color flag of the person that cut (up or down ) so every body could see. We had no complants about not knowing if the pilot had cut or not..

Before you start building your clock I want you to see the one we used this saturday !! David G. and His Dad Jim built !! Best I've seen anywhere and Get this,He is going to have a remote start so all you have to do is push the remote button and the clock starts the count down !! I will try and get David G. to post some pictures soon !!
Hope you guys do well on your race !!!

What is your schedule for the year? I have a son in your area and maybe I could do a visit and fly Club 40 with you.
