Default TX vs AL

Never mind, I found the thread further down!!!

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_11333005/tm.htm

Are there plans for another TX vs AL race in Tuscoloosa this year? If so, is there a tentative date set? Need to get some vacation time scheduled if this is going to happen in 2013.

Hey Gary,

Is there anyone coordinating the road trip to Alabama? I've scheduled vacation time but would like to get any rooms reserved and work out any other logistics needed in advance.

Ted, this is where Bob and I stayed last year and this year!

It is a very nice Inn. The Yellow Hammer Inn is not that far from the park!

Not sure how many from Waco & Hico are going, I’m sure those guys want to go Bob and I are trying to talk Ken H. into going also! So from the pilots from Texas, Indiana, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia we will descend on Tuscaloosa like buzzards on a meat wagon!!! [>:]

Is there any code we need to use to get the racers discount at the Yellowhammer hotel?

Yes, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of August.
I have not had any luck getting any discounts for rooms. Expedia is your best bet for the lowest prices

Pre-registration thread is open so please sign up and give us an idea of how many pilots we will be having so we can plan accordingly. Also we can get a hear start on the matrix..

Field will be open for practice on Friday as last year. Saturday morning 6AM field will be open for practice and inspections will begin as soon as possible. Pilots meeting at 9:00 and racing at 10:00. We will fly as many heats as possible on Saturday, any remaining heats and the Mains will be held on Sunday morning starting as soon as possible or as the sun allows. Remember we face East so the sun will be a consideration on starting on both days.

Lunch will be provided on Saturday. Snacks and drinks are available in the clubhouse. Fuel will be supplied for the race as usual. Please bring your sunscreen and remember to drink plenty of liquids. If it is anything like last year it will be hot! Hardhats are required and must be worn anytime you are off the concrete toward the pilots box and staging areas.

Please send me any questions you may have.

The Econo Lodge in Northport has rooms available. It is real close to the flying site.<div>

How many fellow Texans plan to make the race now that we are getting closer to it?
