Hi Bob, hope everyone has a happy racing new year. I plan on making all of the races and appreciate guys like you and the rest of the CD's for all the hard work.
By the way just saw on the PC PRO Club 40 site and there are some changes to the new LA racers. Aluminum landing gear, wheel pants and a hatch for a battery if you want to electrify one for sport use. Any comments?

Fred, as far as I know the new factory version of the LA Racer is legal for Club 40 racing, but only powered with a legal 40 glow engine on it. Electric power is not allowed.

My Feedback: (6)
Fred,
I picked up one of the new LA Racer and the difference in weight between the wire gear and the aluminum gear is. 2.6 oz! My plane is 1.5 OZ over weight so I migt have to swap out the three std sport servos in the fuse for some MINI I already have the 700 MAH HK LiFe. I will be putting some groves in the belly of the LA racer to go with the wire gear, If I can't make weight.

Hi Sparky, The LA racer has always built up a little heavy. I recently put a sky raider wing on a LA racer fuse and that also helped with one less servo. By the way the new race pro rules allow you to swap wing and landing gear on the la racer. The sky raider gear is shorter and lighter.
By the way Don Moden passed last wed. sure sorry to hear about it. He started "Dons Hobby Shop" in Salina you know the one you always see in Model Aviation. At one time he sold more JR radios than any hobby shop in the country. He was a good old fart and we had some great times together racing.

News Flash from Georgetown. For our next race we will be trying our new robot. This is a version of the Hico starting system. It is an electronically-manually operated robot called the Kendziorbotic. The kendziorbotic will hold four planes on the starting line while their engines are at full power (just like the Hico system). Therefore callers will not be required to hold the planes. When the starting flag is dropped the Kendziorbotic will release the first two planes and then, like magic, release the next two exactly one second later. This one second delay is accurate to within +or - .001 of a second. That’s one millisecond for those that understand mills, micros and nannos. You will be amazed.
Another News Flash, unlike our previous races, this time we are not able to put up the pylons until the Friday before the race. The farmer will be planting during the week but told me he would be finished by Friday. If you arrive before Friday you can still fly, but do not fly over the moving tractor.

No, we haven’t changed the tank rule here in Texas. Last year’s tank is still OK. The stock tank is still the willing set-up. However, I’m taking side bets on who will hit the pylon.

Hey pylonboy, I’ve just made a modification to the Kendziorbodic. It’s a 5 second holdback for those planes that are faster than a 1:20. Except for mine, of course.

Newbie to pylon coming for the 15th
Y'all have a newbie from Houston coming.
I'll be all alone so take it easy on me.
Hope someone will take me under their wing and make sure I do all the right things.
Hey Fred,
Do you remember the 1972 Nat's trip?
I found this old picture in some family stuff. Brought back a lot of good memories.
See ya at the race?
