Club 40 Pylon Race at WAAM in Tuscaloosa Aug 4th, 2012
 

West Alabama Aero Modelers (WAAM), Tuscaloosa, Al will be hosting a Club 40 race to be held on August 4th, 2012.

*******Alabama Club40 Rules will apply!******

*This is a 2 pole/400 foot race course. Flying starts will be used.
*Entry Fee $20.00 and will include lunch. .
*Hardhats are required.
*Stock Skyraiders and Stock LA Racers will be allowed as well as the Sanaloma kit built version. &gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;All current Alabama C40 rules apply&lt;&lt;&lt;&lt;&lt;&lt;&lt;&lt;.
*Gates open around 7:30AM
* Tech inspection from 8:30-9:15 AM
*Pilots meeting appx 9:30AM
*Racing to Start appx 10:00AM
*Fuel will be furnished byWAAM for the race
*Minimum weight of airplane is 4 lbs, 8 oz with no fuel in tank.

*A50/50 raffle will be held. We also have a World Models SkyRaider that will be raffled off also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus a few gift certificates too!!!!!!!!!!

*We will try to fly 6 rounds if possible, time permitting . At the end of the 6th round , points will be totaled and the TOP 8 pilots will be divided into the A Main and the B Main catagories.
Any tie breakers will be flown off before the Main races begins.

*Trophies will be awarded for 1st thru 4th place for the A Main race as well as 1st thru 4th place for the B Main race.

I was planning to come to at least one Alabama race and yours was one I wanted to come to. But I don't know if my planes will qualify as STOCK because I have dual aileron servos in my Sky Raider Mach II planes.

Don, We do allow the dual Aileron for both the Sky rader and the LA racer !!! Some of our guys are doing just what you did and there
is not a problem with it..

No problem. Just in case everyone is wondering, our flyer says "two days" that was a misprint on our part, we usually have 2 day events and that was a template so we only race on Sat the 4th. However everyone is welcome to stay or come back on Sunday for a free fly day and have more fun. Sorry for the misinformation.

I'm going to do my best to make at least one Alabama race this year. Hopefully before the [link=http://club40nats.com]Club40Nats.com[/link]. BTW, I think you guys have a race scheduled that weekend. [X(] We were hoping to have some of you at the Championship race. :)

I almost have to go through Atlanta to get to where you are, so Barry Reade and I will probably show up together to race. I will take Friday off so I can be rested and ready for McGowan and Battman and the rest of you. ;)

I know McGowan is loaded and ready because he just got a bunch of planes from me. I'm stocking Sky Raiders and LA Racers again so people on the East Coast can get them quicker. And I will have good prices too. I have a bunch coming in later this week. All of the solid colors and even some of the factory colors.

At the moment it looks the Fish and Yoda (aka Old Bob) will be there. I hope T- town is ready for LIGHT SABER fast engines and chrome polished servo arms. We may bring one or two Droid Warriors with us. :)

HOT DOG!  David look what is happening!  T-Town will be ready to host a shoot out at the WAAM.  I got my plane today along with another to be "RAFFLED OFF" at the event.  I will make sure all those in T-Town know this will be a MULTI-STATE event.  I am really excited.  Hope to see all of you on Aug 4th!  COME ON DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!</p>

I'll bet a dollar to a donut T town will have not seen this much excitement since the tornados came thru town last year!!

Ed and D2, do you still have those front bumpers for rent to afix to the front of some airplanes?? Sounds like we may need some for dealing with the Texas guys that are coming [X(]

Then there's the talk of main man on campus Don Stegall maybe coming too along with Barry Reade!!! YEE- HAHHHH!!!

Heck I may call James Spann and let him come and witness the Vortex'es that will be created with all those planes flying around in circles. We are going all out on media coverage and trying to get as much as we can. I think everyone will be amazed at the number of spectators we will be having. Say race and the whole town shows up.

ED Gary Fisher and I must be on the same wave length, because we both thought of comming to your race from Texas!!!!!!

I have been talking it up and you better be ready we may out number you. So far I have a bout ten people lined up to come. And the number keeps growing.

I will keep you informed as the date gets closer as to the exact number. Gary and Bob are going to drive over leaving here on Friday. I have a motor home that can seat 11 if we can fill it up we may bring it and a trailer full of planes.

This will be a great event and a good chance for everyone to meet before the Club 40 Nats here in Waco in October.

You guys will be most welcome!!!! We had a club meeting on Sunday afternoon at the field and I was totally suprised at the anticipation of all the members. We put on a good feed and have a wonderful and beautiful model airport. The official name is the City of Tuscaloosa Model Airport. and it's on a big sign just before you reach the entrance to the park. We lease from the City and they do all the upkeep, maintenance and grass cutting. It looks like a golf course. I will post a couple pics in a few minutes to give you an idea of what we look like. Hope to see all of you here and I know we will have a blast.

Lets see, we have Texas,Tennessee, North Carolina,Georgia and Alabama. Looks good so far !!

How bout it Louisiana and Mississippi you got any Club 40 racers ????
