Default What is the strongest glue / epoxy??

I need your advice! I have repaired the landing gear in my Great Planes Revolver 60 two times (Awesome plane). The last time I used 15 minute epoxy with fiberglass dust (Great Planes Pro Milled Fiberglass) and it still did not hold. Would Gorilla glue be any stonger? Is 30 minute epoxy any stronger. What is the strongest glue to use in your opinion.

I've had good luck with Gorrila glue or Hysol for your kind of application.

The glue (when properly selected) will always be stronger than the parent material. Epoxy should stick to your LG but there are three things that need to happen:

1. The surfaces must be scrupulously cleaned and roughed up (to give the glue a place to bite)
2. The glue has to be appropriate for the materials being bonded
3. It has to be clamped together firmly, held there until dry without being disturbed.

I like to put glue on each surface and work it in to the substrate on both sides of the glue joint, just for good measure.

Just my $.02

A plastic part that is repeatedly subjected to stress should be replaced not repaired. It's only a $13.50 part.

Repeatedly fixing your landing gear is an indication that you need to practice your landings and/or cut the grass shorter. Epoxy is already stronger than whatever it is attached to in the plane so a stronger glue won't be any better.

I'm guessing the gear plate is pulling out, not the gear legs themselves breaking? If so, try fabricating a new, larger plate out of marine ply and pin it to the fuse with a couple dowels. Butt-glued joints of many current ARFs leave a lot to be desired, and I usually beef them up during the initial build. Not necessarily a pilot-induced failure, in my case it's a field with lots of ruts coupled with the aforementioned minimally-built/designed ARF.

Yeah, I built a larger base plate. I extended the base back to the next wall which extended the base by about 3.5"... I then used 30 minute epoxy. After I attached the landing gear I reinforced the landing gear with a metal strap running over the landing gearfrom the main fire wall back to the base. It is has held up very well.
